Ali was very big for his era and held a size advantage over MOST of his opposition. He also had a clear advantage in hand speed, foot speed, ring generalship...yet he still clinched a LOT.

How does this make you feel?

poll should have been made public so we could see which disgraces voted --

Clinching is ONLY ok for Ali, otherwise disgraceful

Slightly. The leaning and pushing the head down was kind of a bother. But it's part of the game.

    I disagree.

Ali, while not a HUGE HW, he is certainly a big HW. Bigger than most of his opponents.

Ali in his division is normal compared to Wlad in today's division. WTF does he need to piggyback on Mormeck for after every jab? He isn't going to hurt ya Wladdy :patsch

Big George said that he was surprised that Ali was actually taller than him when he met Ali at the center of the ring. Ali was pretty much the same height as Foreman and Norton - 6'3" - but if you watch his fights you see he "fought tall".

Ali's pushing the head down always bothered me, not his clinching. Historically, clinching has been part of the sport.

What I said is true. Watch some Ali fights.

All I know of that poster is that he's a rabid Calslappy nuthugger? Maybe I am thinking of someone else.

I hate clinches, when fights start to get exciting at close ranged outboxers who like to stay out of range use it all the time when the fight gets close its annoying. Floyd Mayweather, Ali, Leonard all were boring to watch because of this.

Ali made up for the fact that his style was boring by dancing around the ring on his feet. Throwing nice combinations, and doing the ali shuffle.

Leonard just copied Ali for the most part, but added in some of his own wobbles and bolo punches.

I dont mind clinching, unless its too much or leaning on the opponent back or pushing him down.
