Incorrect - there are more shows this year in more countries than ever before. :deal PPV rates may be down in the US in which you are correct IMO that faddism is a factor. Worldwide interest though is still growing and associated sports also are booming - boxing included.
Yeah, when they stand up and actually ENGAGE, throwing punches, it can be interesting. But that rolling around on the ground crap??? BORING.:deal
I watch pro-wrestling but not that WWE/TNA rubbish.. soap opera storylines do not interest me one bit. Plus I like to watch a product that is hard hitting and where the results actually matter and its taken seriously. I watch japanese pro-wrestling. New Japan is the hottest fight league in the world at the moment and yes that includes MMA organisations. I do watch MMA but nowhere near as much as I once did. UFC kinda gave me burnout with way too many events. Pride/K-1 dying with no real major mega alternative didnt help.
As a fan of combat sports, can you see yourself watching mix martial arts or pro wrestling and if you watch both, how does it compare to the other combat sport we love, boxing?
I'm a fan of all 3, I grew up watching Pro Wrestling but I hate the current product, I'm subscribed to the WWE Network and I occasionally watch the old school Raw and Smackdown, I love MMA also.
I enjoy watching MMA particularly UFC but I like watching fights, it's not much more complicated than that. Boxing is my first love and I've been watching it for well over 40 years, but I also enjoy a good UFC fight. To call wrestling hugging or any other name is to show a lack of knowledge of the sport. I wrestled in university and it's one of the physically hardest sports you'll ever come across. Even pro wrestling I respect, because when I was younger I was a fan of the Dynamite Kid, who is now in a wheel chair, because many of those flips off the ropes didn't go as planned. I know the outcome is mostly predetermined, but the athleticism and the split second timing needed to pull of some of these moves is not. And the injuries are real. I don't watch pro wrestling anymore, but I certainly appreciate it more now than I use to, because of the factors I've just mentioned.
I try to watch as many UFC events as i can. Just a year ago i barely watched it, so it's some kind of new interest, but i really try to watch as much as i can. Wrestling. Nah. Just don't get it. What is the point?
