Yea...that's what's still bugging me about the whole thing.

But the thing in the article that caught my attention was the rule about wraps between the two states.

    Nevada provides them
California allows you to bring your own

I respect the phrase he used

"as comfortable as I can be".

At least he isnt bullshitting and saying "Im certain he didnt cheat" cuz in honesty no one really knows.

Fact is it will probably never be proved or disproved for that fight (unless someone from margo's camp comes out and confesses). If he is found guilty for the mosley incident, people (including myself) will find it very hard to give him the benefit of the doubt for the cotto fight. Never mind the number of people that would have overseen the handwrapping at the mosley fight...its probably the same number of people that oversaw AND YET MISSED THE IRREGULARITIES of the handwrapping at the mosley fight.

Even if they didnt intend to harden the gauze, their defence which is the claim it was prepared 2 weeks before sounds like a 'ritual' to me. Something they do for every fight. I mean why would they suddenly do it for this fight? So even if it was unintentional, it would be hard to think they didnt do the same thing for the cotto fight.

    Agreed.

Throw in the fact that its

and it could get by quite easily.

The official who OK'd the wraps was reported to be conversing and laughing in spanish with Margo & CO...Maybe he dismissed it or some ****. Took the guy's word for it or whatever.

    True :think

Can't disagree and I still feel he cheated...

But this was more for those who are still on the fence about the whole situation.

The only thing I saw in the article that sorta had me scratching my head was the difference between the states of one providing the wraps and the other allowing you to bring your own

CASE CLOSED. Can the UNFOUNDED and IRRESPONSIBLE accusations against Margarito in other fights FINALLY stop.

There is a lynch mob mentality among boxing fans that is very disturbing. Until someone produces EVIDENCE to the contrary, there is no GOOD reason for assuming that Margarito had ANYTHING in his gloves in this or any other fight prior to the as-yet-unproven Mosley incident.

From this thread, you appeared to be one of the few reasonable Cotto fans. What gives? There is NO EVIDENCE - none whatsoever - that Margarito had anything in his wraps in that fight. Heck, the charges in the Mosley fight haven't even been proven!!!:patsch

The law states..."Guilty beyond reasonable doubt"

Just carrying from the incriminating evidence from the Mosley case...it's beyond a reasonable doubt that he cheated in previous fights...

So you are recanting on the premise of your thread, and joining the rest the lynch mob that wants to impugn Margarito's performance in previous fights without ANY evidence, and indeed with a clear statement to the contrary from Nevada officials?? I just want to get clear on this!

The charges against Margarito in the Mosley fight, IF proven, will only show that his team used something prohibited in THAT fight, not others.

I think what you want is concrete evidence...such as a murder weapon in a murder case...

But trials have been done and won without such things.

So spare me the antics...the facts and observations alone can build enough suspicion to "lynch" him.
