As a fan, how can you NOT like the Haye-Klitschko rematch claus?

It's a shitty deal for Haye, no going around that, but as i fan i don't see what there is to complain.

Haye is an exciting fighter and if he beats Wlad, he's gonna face off with him again and then with his brother. How can you NOT like the #1, #2 and #3 HW's facing of 3 times by way of contract? Those who are complaining now should be happy the next time Ray Austin becomes Wlad's mandatory.

It's definitely good but the reason why it's being mentioned quite a lot is because many people believe Wladimir didn't really show any signs of real confidence by asking for that so many suggest that he's "scared" or feels threatened and wants some sort of security.

On one hand? I love the fact that we could see Haye against the top of the division so many times. It's very good in my eyes.

On another hand? Fighting the Klitschkos as many times as he'll have to fight them (if he wins of course) is a nice way to shorten Haye's career by a few years.

What bothers me is the precedent it sets. I can see other promoters demanding 3-fight deals for their fighters - if you want a title shot, you need a rematch clause and a possible 3rd fight with this other fighter of mine.

Maybe it won't happen much as promoters may not have multiple top-10 fighters in a given division, but anything that potentially makes making good fights difficult worries me.

Good point. Something I didn't exactly think of.

Let's say Haye destroys Wlad. Why watch an automatic rematch of it? It would be like "getting" a rematch of Wlad vs Austin. As a fan, wouldn't you rather see Haye go for another title rather than waste 6 months for a Wlad rematch. This is just from a fan POV.
From a boxing business POV, a rematch clause is quite normal.

What sucks for Haye is that if he wins. he has two more fights n that contract and none of them will be on his terms. It is likely that should he win a title, he will be stripped of it because he can't take any mandatory defesnes before 18 months.

Like one poster said earlier today Haye could be stripped of the belts while he is having the three fights. That's the only thing I don't like about it.

It does lock Haye down into the Klitschko terms but he says he can beat them both easily so no worries right?

I support it. Besides he's not the top do at the moment so I don't really believe he should be trying to call the shots. You either take it or leave it. Besides he wants to prove that he's the best so he should dominate and overthow Klit.
