Personally...... I don't give a **** about belts. I don't give a **** about sanctioning bodies. I don't give a **** about purse bids. I don't give a **** about promoters. I don't give a **** about managers. I don't give a **** about trainers. I don't give a **** about rankings. I don't give a **** about networks. I don't give a **** about ratings. I don't give a **** about contracts. I don't give a **** about A-side/B-side. I don't give a **** about drug testing. I don't give a **** about negotiations. I don't give a **** about that precious 0. I don't give a **** about beefs. I don't give a **** about **** talking. I don't give a **** about who's richer. I don't give a **** about level of fame. I don't give a **** about politics in general. All I really care about is watching two guys in a ring fighting, their styles and how they mesh or don't mesh, their skillsets, strategies, strengths and their weaknesses. I care about who they've beaten in the past and all the people that they've beaten have beaten. While I do care about quality of their records and I do like using that as a measuring stick to rank them with, I mainly like those aspects because I can use it as a better analytical tool to use to discuss how they'll perform against potential future opponents. Because I like thinking about **** like that. That being said, as much as I hate all of that horse****, I'm absolutely excellent at breaking down who should be ranked higher in terms of who's the "best" or who has the superior "skills". Now, on occasion, will I partake in discussions on that type of subject matter? Sure. It can depend on the fighter involved. I have nothing against silly gossiping or menial small talk, but ultimately, it doesn't mean all much to me. One other thing regarding gossip. I do like stories about their personal lives, whether or not they're dealing with demons, alcohol & drug problems or personal problems, because that can affect their performances. And from a moral standpoint, I'd prefer a fighter not be criminal or an abusive piece of garbage with a rap sheet a mile long, but even then, case by case basis. But I ultimately do prefer to be able to root for someone who isn't a total reprobate with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. But for the most part, all of that noise goes in one ear and out the other. So tell me, what matters the most to you as a Boxing fan? And why does all the stuff matter to you?
Match making! Just want to see 2 guys equally matched , fighting with heart and to the best of their abilities. That's when you get the best fights.
I want to see who's best. Who's the real deal. And who's just a flawed hype-job And whether my prediction of the outcome was correct.
What matters the most to me is men challenging themselves, taking the hardest fight possible for them, and giving it everything they've got. I want to see their potential realized, holding nothing back.
The best matchups being made should be everyone's answer, but for some I genuinely think they care about purses, whether casual football hooligan fans from Grimsby Town/instagram models know who they are, A side v B side etc. it's ridiculous.
Mercenaries are an important element of boxing... Indirectly they help increase the overall $ coming into boxing How much will it cost to have Floyd Mayweather take a fight where he is a sure underdog? Regardless of how the fight goes, it will set a higher $ benchmark for Boxing & money attracts new ambitious youth...
The best fighting the best, I just want to know who the best is in any given division. And competitive fights, aslong as they are competitive and it isnt really obvious who is likely to win and win easy before it even starts then i am likely to enjoy said fight. Oh and fair fights. I expect a bit of home advantage, a bit of home sway as its happened in the sport as far back as it goes, but outside of that if things get really biased and one sided in the ring or on the score cards it makes me sick and angry, even if its a Boxer im rooting for getting all the favourable decisions.
Like anything I would be interested in, the most talented people in their respective field and being entertained, however the two don’t cross over that frequently.
The things that matter the most to me are No mas wins JTFO KD's and KO's No mas wins and JTFO KOs>>> everything else Aesthetically pleasing ring attire and impeccable CCA Iron-jawed fighters Road warriors The things that disgust me most about the sport Glass jawed fighters Fighters grunting when they punch Fighters rocking knee-high socks Fighters who say no to neutral judges Have gloves won't travel diva female dog fighters who refuse to fight on a playing field that isn't weighted in their favour
