Would you go back to that you've actually been part of?

    Personally, I loved 2001.

Floyd was in his prime, Kosta was in his prime, Lennox was still around, Jones, Tito, Oscar, Mosley were all still huge names, Barerra dethroned Naz, Morales was taking names...

    Fantastic year, IMO.

    Your turn...

    1982.

Boxing was on free tv all the friggin time. The NFL player's strike meant BOXING.

HBO and Closed Circuit had some awesome cards, too.

Based on my age (born in 53) I'll go with RockyJim. Dad had me a boxing fan by the time I was 7; told me what a gentleman and Champion Patterson was. Going to the barber shop there was always a Ring Magazine on the table while we waited our turn. We all knew who the Titleholder was in Every division, no 5-6-7 champs, no 30-35-40 top 10 contenders, no new division every 3-4 pounds. The Gillette Friday night fights and Wide World of Sports shortly thereafter. I know you youngsters love the sport but I wish you could have been around then and experienced the era. Bad arse middles/welters taking each other apart. Other weight classes, Jofre, Battling Herada, etc... I live in the past and it brings tears to my eyes to think how special those times were as a child.
