As a Floyd fan I admit that was a cheap KO.

the moment cortez motioned them to fight floyd should have smacked him straight. i don't a gif with me now but did he do that exactly or did he allow ortiz to hug him first then went for it?

Yep. The only reason the bout was allowed to continue is because it was a championship PPV event.

He came into Ortiz with his guard up and a scowl of disgust. Ortiz kept trying to hug and Mayweather wanted none of it.

Once Ortiz stepped back with his guard down, it was game on. Mayweather could have thrown a punch earlier if he wanted to when Ortiz was coming in for his 3rd hug, fight had been resumed already. Ortiz had plenty of time to be ready.

There is really no way to tell if Floyd knew or not, or if Ortiz knew or not that the fight is on. So all we can agree is that:

if Ortiz did not know that the fight was on = it was a sucker punch
if Ortiz knew that the fight was on = it was a perfectly good clean punch
if Floyd knew that Ortiz knew the fight was on = it was a perfectly good clean punch
if Floyd knew that Ortiz does not know the fight was on = it was a sucker punch

    :good

i have to look back at it. if the ref signaled the fight's on both should have attacked straightaway. something's just not clear and it's somethign i can't put a finger on.

i'm thinking, if floyd was all business, he would have punched a hands down ortiz as he was approaching straight away. him getting closer to meet victor in the middle would have indicated something else. blame's on ortiz whichever way as he should not have placed his hands low.

It was a legal, but cheap KO, but at the same time I don't think Mayweather was thinking the whole time that he was going to get a KO in that moment. He was just looking to jump on him after being head butted. To act as if Mayweather planned it out to get the KO in that moment is sillyness.

Why was Ortiz looking at the ref the whole time and not even looking at Mayweather at all to see if Mayweather is going to attack him again? If you want to look at the ref at least keep you opponent in the corner of your eye or something.

With all do respect, should not speak in absolutes. Especially when talking about how you perceive other people felt.

I swear Pacquiao fans are plain autistic.

What's Manny turning down Floyd's offer, twice, and walking away, to fight other people go to do with Mayweather refusing to fight.

Ortiz and Mosely accepted a deal, in negotiations. Its why they fought the guy

    Come on.

The only people who seriously think it was cheap, are the same fans who blub on about Mosely throwing the fight, and Marquez being bloated, and Hatton being undersized.

You know, the latest stick to beat the guy with.

Go on any serious pundits page, who knows boxing, and every single one of them is saying the truth. Floyd did little wrong, and Ortiz is a complete fool.

    Even Dan Raphael says that

Floyd also didnt expect this guy to not get up after the knockdown Hell we all thought Ortiz had the ability to get up after a kd. Ortiz made the KO cheap by not getting up.
