as a floyd fan, id say he was looking about 50-60 percent tonight

BIG SHOCK... after the canelo fight i thought there was NO CHANCE a guy like maidana could even make this competitive, i knew hed come to fight and rough him up with low blows and such but i thought floyd would just adjust after 3 rounds and school him to a UD or late stoppage

.his balance tonight seemed SO BAD. he reminded me of tim bradley at times

.he was no where near as fast, though he made up for it with his ring IQ in the middle rounds really starting to time maidana in the centre of the ring occasionally using the pull counter

. he seemed to be loading up an awful lot on shots.. maybe it seems that way because those shots would usually land for the mayweather of old, i knew he had lost a step but comparing this to his last performance id say he is VERY VULNERABLE TO A YOUNG SMART BOXER to beat him

alot of people say you cant outbox floyd and this may have been true back when he was prime but i think that is the way to beat him now, id almost gaurentee you if he had chosen khan he would have lost tonight.

with 2 or 3 fights left on his contract after tonight i went from saying there is no way anyone would beat him to, he will most likely take a loss before his career is over. at 37 years old it was bound to happen

He was off, even when they were announcing his name he looked unconfident, think everything just took its toll on him, he would do alot better in a rematch

The first 6 rounds he was looking a bit shocked and uncomfortable, but the 2nd half of the fight he got into more of a rhythm.

I can't remember seeing Mayweather miss so many punches. Showtime rarely showed the punch stats. I wish they did. He definitely looked sluggish by his standards.

Wholeheartedly agree. If that's how he actually looks and that wasnt "for the fans" as he says. Then he will take an L before his career is over.

My only thing is that he wasn't outboxed tonight. He didn't have time to think tonight. I think in a BOXING match he's still pretty hard to beat. He was swarmed tonight, lowblows, rabbits, being pushed back .

But the rematch will tell us more on where he is. If he looks the same or as bad in a rematch then we know whats up. If the rematch is a wash then we can go from there.

He looked alright tonight. Not great. Not bad. Alright. I thought his reflexes were still there, Maidana missed a huge fast hayemaker by like an inch. He still looked good in the center of the ring. But he was swarmed tonight. Definitely his closest fight in years. I think it was more the style than the age though

I said this in February and people thought I was nuts

i promised my mates that i watched the fight with "I BET YOU HE WALKS MAIDANA DOWN, HE WONT STAY ON THE BACK FOOT FOR LONG"

but he kept doing it.. during the middle rounds he stayed off the ropes and was beating maidana around putting on a clinic. when he walked maidana down he was having success and this is floyd we are talking about, if anyone is great at making adjustments its floyd, but in the last few rounds he goes back to the ropes ?... i kind of believe him when he said he made it a competitive fight for the fans because the floyd we all know would have just tied and turned maidana or bounced off the ropes and swept under. i did not see any evidence of maidana attempting to nullify that. but even int he center of the ring floyds speed was clearly lacking, maidanas not exactly a quick fighter and his success with a timed punch like the pull counter was alot less then usual

Floyd looked bad because Maidana gave him trouble. If he were fighting Khan tonight, Floyd probably would have looked spectacular. Styles make fights.

Chino not giving him a second to catch his breath + age = Floyd looking ordinary
