As a GGG and Ward fan, I feel like GGG isn't ready for Ward

I'm not sure why all my Ward brethren are calling for GGG's head. He's not ready yet for a Ward level tactician.

I still feel he is 2-3 fights away from having a chance against Ward. It would be unfair to see him fight a man of this caliber just yet, even though, GGG is 2 years older.

Let him at least get a fight at 168 first. Way to get over emotional with that second statement.

I disagree. I think he's ready right now, as ready as he'll ever be. I'd like to see that fight next year.

It's known that Golovkin is fighting again in February and again in May.
Ward needs to be getting that tune up fight out of the way soon, so he's ready to go in May.
I think Ward will continue to not fight and play the name game via his lawyer's email.:rofl

It's not a question of being ready. Ward is a high risk, low reward fight. I think they want a couple of money fights first and that makes sense because any loss, even a loss to Ward in a close fight, would take some of the wind out of the proverbial sails and damage Golovkin's marketability. I would like to see Golovkin fight Chavez and Cotto or Canelo for the lineal belt before moving up to 168 to fight Ward.

If Ward offered to come down to 160, however, then Golovkin would have no excuse not to fight him. I don't Ward is stupid enough to do that though.

BUll**** excuse.. Edwin Rodriguez made a million dollars fighting Ward so how much do you think GGG can make off the fight?

That's the difference in mentality as a fighter between Ward and Golovkin. GGG wouldn't drag the undisputed champ at a higher weight down, like Ward did with Dawson.
Ward had his chance to be a badass and fight the man at a higher weight and he didn't want any part of it.

I don't think he'd make as much as he would fighting Chavez or Canelo on PPV. And what is the excuse? I said I want Golovkin to fight Ward next year. To me it doesn't matter if it's in the beginning of the year or the end of the year, but Golovkin's management wants to maximize his earning potential and I understand that.

Well to be fair, how much do you think Ward is going to want for that fight? IIRC, HBO wasn't happy about the total purse amount for that fight, especially against someone without a big name like Edwin. I can almost guarantee Ward is going to want a fairly big payday even though Golovkin, and himself, aren't that kind of star yet where they can demand that much money considering both of their promotional teams won't have the backing of a Top Rank or Golden Boy. Don't get me wrong, I would love this fight, but as it stands, I don't see how the teams would be able to come to an agreement on how things are split, especially now that Ward has been sidelined so long and will be that way for the time being. Ward would need a tune-up fight first and foremost (so if the chance that Golovkin were to somehow beat him, I don't want to hear the excuse that he was rusty) and I would prefer Golovkin to have a fight at 168 against an established name to give a good showing-granted he wins-in order that he deserves to be at that weight and would therefore be a worthy opponent. The last thing a fight of this magnitude needs is to be rushed just because Ward fans and GGG naysayers want to see his hype derailed. This could truly be a special fight that doesn't need to be wasted over someones petty fighter preference.

Ward thinks he is tough, huh? Wants to take on GGG? Pick on someone your own size Ward. Why don't you step up and fight Stevenson? And then after you dispense of Stevenson (?) then you can fight Kovalev. Then when you beat Kovalev (?) you can drop down to 160 and fight GGG. No? Why not? That is what you are asking GGG to do.

I hope GGG only fights Ward if he agrees to go down to 160. Ward thinks he is tough? Then let him prove it at 160.
