I really think he might do what SRL did with Hagler vs Mugambi. I think he realized that no one carried to much for rematch's for Hoya and Hatton. This might also be a step closer to a fight with Cotto. Even though he is probably one of the greatest talents ever. He knows that a Cotto fight is his step to true greatness. He will be back. Also thank god for no Hoya fight.
he is a ***** deep down that is scared to death to test himself to the fullest true champions dare to be great but not floyd
Maybe, but I still feel that he never fought a great fighter in their prime. WHICH will always be his downfall
This is what I thought when I first heard the news. It's legacy suicide to retire without facing Cotto... ProvidedCotto keeps on winning.
As a 6-time world champion ... i'm sure that he isn't scare of anything ... and I would think that gaining 6 titles - let alone 1 is a sure nuff test ... during those championship fights ... i'm sure he ran the risk of losing ... hell he ran the risk of losing 39 times ... in a fight - nothing is guaranteed ... and a loss can come at any time ...
floyd is my favorite boxer.......i was expecting him to fight the winner of cotto/margarito but if his heart ain't in it then theres nothing anyone can say or do. I hope he comes back to face the winner of margarito/cotto......because in my opinion...he can beat the hell out of COTTO and Margarito. People seem to overrate cotto and underestimate floyd because their behavior outside the ring is so different, with cotto being the humble one and floyd being the arrogant one....but at the end of the day....cotto's skills ain't never touching floyd's.....just look at his fights with Jose luis castillo...and i dare anyone to tell me Cotto would beat a prime castillo in his prime twice!
I seriously doubt that......Castillo had an iron chin and he had very heavy hands......he couldn't hit floyd as much because of his crazy defence...so if he would've fought Cotto he would've give him hell, and probably stop him because Cotto's defence is nowhere near Floyds, so i'm my opinion Cotto would've gotten badly tagged....now don't get me wrong....i love Cotto as a fighter...he has great skills and balls....but i just can't see him giving floyd as much trouble as castillo gave him....since floyd has evolved from those fights and cotto is nowhere near floyds level, in terms of championship fights.
It's too bad we didn't get to see the great matchups that could have happened. But we don't know if he's retired for good or if it's just a marketing ploy.
Floyd just wants to make as much rappin and wrasslin money possible while he still got his 0 cause the sheeple wont worship 39 and 1
It wasn't the same Judah. It was Judah after a year of inactiveness and a NC result in a fight against a bum. ONE YEAR OF INACTIVITY. Second...Judah hurt Cotto. Cotto had to make some low blows. Judah, on the other hand, never hurt Mayweather. And that knockdown was Floyd's arm touching canvas and wasn't counted. And if you think that fight was close you are very biased or very idiot.
I don't give a **** what anyone says....Cotto could not beat a prime Castillo at super lightweight, easily. Unless you give me a thorough explanation of how Cotto could beat him, i won't entertain the idea.
