As a Klitschko fan, I am also now a fan of David Haye.

Haye is doing EXACTLY what he should be doing right now...making a big fuss, calling the Klitschkos out over and over again, and making this fight appealing. Truth is...he DOES stand a chance of beating them, albeit not a large one. Especially after the trash talk, people will expect him to bring it come fight night...and if he brings it, things could get wild.

It's a pretty strong contrast to other guys...you very rarely hear other fighters call out the Klitschko's...not many guys would like to go that route to get the title right now.

To me, there are only a few real threats to the Klits right now, they are as follows:

Haye - His speed, good power, and talented boxing ability could befuddle Vitali, IMO.

Chagaev - pre-injury, i think he could EASILY upset one of the brothers. He is an extremely talented southpaw fighter, who showed against Valuev that size does not matter to him...great head movement and trap-setting.

Gomez - he has sparred with the Klitschkos, although he has said before that Wlad is the best HW on the planet, I question whether he may be a bit intimidated by him. But Gomez - Vitali could prove a very hard fight for Vitali...Gomez has great boxing skills, some quick hands, and some real talent in the ring. When he's in shape, he is a top 5 contender.

Povetkin - Personally...I don't think he stands much a chance...to green. Takes too many shots. You cannot let either brother tee off on you...and they WILL tee off on you if you let them. But he does have good pressure skills and I could see him troubling Wlad, and not Vitali.

Past that, I'm not sure if there are any threats...maybe Arreola in a year.

If Arreola spends the year at a weight loss clinic living full-time with a trainer who will teach him boxing basics - then maybe.

Arreola is more of a hype job than Sam Peter, and he had his face beaten in by a guy who hadn't fought in 4 years.

Well, it's one thing to call out a fighter, it's another thing to behave like an infantile, classless, stalking ****** and that's what Haye has mainly been doing.

Hayes obviously supremely confident. Otherwise he wouldn't make such a fuss. He's only doing what other heavyweights in history have done. The heavyweight division has got boring with NO personalities.

They don't even box in the ring with personalities. Wladimir is the most boring heavyweight champion of all-time.

David Haye is a breath of fresh air.

Haye needs to beat some more top HWs before facing either Klitschko.

yeah haye is good for the heavyweight division, but what happens once he loses? :yep

i get what you are saying because he has only fought one heavy weight, but what top heavy weight had Rock beat lately to have a title shot? even though i know he was a late replacement.

Haye's going to get KOed by Wlad, I hope he fights Wlad! Vitaly is not as smooth as Wlad, Haye could have achance of beating the elder Klitschko, but I hope it doesn't happen! Haye talkes way too much!

Don King talked far too much too.

Difference is Don King was a promotor of other boxers. David Haye is his own promotor.

Haye didn't talk like that until he created Hayemaker promotions. In boxing tickets sell more when there is a good guy vs bad guy or a reason to watch a fight.

    Haye knows what he's doing.

I have to agree with the poster here. Haye's got a good chance at beating both brothers though it's going to be a question of who lands first in either fight. Though haters will deny it, Haye is a very talented guy. The so called trash talking and infantile behavior add excitement to the division and are incredibly entertaining. I happen to like fighters who talk big so long as they back it up, which Haye has always done.

David is exactly what boxing needs and should be about. Sure they're althletes but boxing is also about entertainment and there's nothing like a good rivalry and boxers calling each other out to get fans going. Haye has never been disrespectful or untruthful in his word about other fighters or boxing itself. It's his aggressive style and big talking that made me such a big fan. Sure Haye could lose to either brother but its my opinion that many fans and fighters underestimate his talent. Dont' be suprised if Haye wins both fights against the Klitschko's. At the very least Haye's chances at beating the brothers is better than anyone else's including Arreola's.

Haye can be a real boost to either of the Klitschkos in terms of profile and cash.

Far from it being "infantile", his tactics are exactly what's needed to try to stir up extra attention in the division. Lots of jabbers being polite to each other really doesn't hack it. I think it's been good to see Wlad getting a little riled about it, good to see the passion there.
