Do you want the fight to be at a weight were both fighter can be competitive at 140-142?

Or do you agree with Roach at 147?

    Vote the Poll.

There is probably gonna be negotiations for 140, 142-144, 147.

As a boxing fan where would you like this to take place?

He looked pretty good at 145 yesterday, so why not, imo?

Both guys should weigh in where they're comfortable, there won't be a huge difference on fight night.

catch weight is the most ideal for both parties

    pac's side will want 147... **** maybe even 150
    Jmm's side will want 140.....

might as well settle in between

I agree if they say 147 or nothing... Marquez should take it.

Marquez should have someone beat it into him that PAC will only come in at 144

so to try and come in at the weight he feels comfortable not to try and put muscle or anything just come in at his optimum weight...

But for some reason Marquez has been quoted that he will come in at the limit... so that is mind boggling to me, JUST COME IN AT YOUR OPTIMUM weight.

The thing is he doesn't want to come at his best weight and then have to give up 4-6 pounds in mass his opponent will have; that advantage will make Pac harder to hurt and more likely to hurt Marquez. Without the catchweight there is no way for Pac not to have an advantage. It's kind of surreal since he is a natural 140 pounder who could make it with only one or two weeks of weightloss leading up to the fight.

That's what I've been saying. Everyone knows that but why is Marquez insisting? The fight at 147 basically means both can come at any weight. Say Pac at 146 and Marquez at 144. It makes me wonder if Marquez is just putting his name out there with Pacquiao as much as he could.

I doubt of this fight will even be competitive at this stage. Marquez is looking more and more past his prime in each fight (obviously he fared better against Katsidis than he did against Floyd due to the size and quality of the opponent), whereas Manny hasn't really missed a beat in my eyes. If they force Marquez to fight at Welter it'll be even worse.

Regardless, he proved himself when both were closer to their primes.

Honestly even if they do say 147 or nothing its not gonna be much of a difference... Pac has barely ever weighed 150+ on fight night.

I see your point, what is Marquez really trying to do here? Manny would have no problem re-hydrating to his target weight right?

144 seems fair for both fighters, no need to dehydrate.
