I have to give him his props for taking this fight.

My one true complaint about Floyd was that he always took the path of least resistance . . . all i ever wanted for the last decade was for him to step up and fight a live fighter instead of midgets and cans.

Canelo is a young fighter and surely lacks experience over Floyd, but he is still a hungry, motivated, live fighter. I'm not even going to beat Floyd up about the catch weight. I dont care, he took an initiative and made a fight happen against a big, powerful guy who shows potential.

For this fight, I push my differences with his career choices aside and extend a vow of respect for FINALLY fighting someone with a pulse.

Hopefully after he wins against Canelo, he will keep stepping up to the plate and finish his career taking fights of equal caliber.

From a floyd hater. . thank you Floyd. . THANK YOU for finally nutting up and taking somewhat of a dangerous fight.

If you think he's been fighting midgets and cans for a decade, you simply weren't paying attention. So, congratulations for finally facing toward the screen with your eyes open, I guess. You can always see better that way and I commend you for making that change.

lol.....I didnt even read that part. Thats what I get for skimming. TS doesnt know what he's talking about. He's argubaly P4P the smallest guy in boxing for his career and has had huge size disadvantages in a ton of fights including this one.

Not to mention the dumb thing about cans. Those same cans would be considered huge fights for anyone else around the division

i'm not a big Floyd fan, tbh, but I have to give him props for this, even if Canelo has to go down to 152

WHOA! I'm literally just now finding out about this. I am shocked that Mayweather made this fight. I didn't expect it. With 5 fights left in his contract, I didn't think he'd take such a potentially dangerous opponent on this early on. Major props.

This should be enough to shut people up. For now.

i think thats debatable. we will have to agree to disagree

I mainly give him credit for taking this fight, because never in a million years did I think he would take a fight against an opponent that is big and can punch. It seems like a risk Floyd just wasnt willing to take until now.

He has fought bigger men and punchers... but at weight advantages, or he simply waits for them to fade (ie; DLH, Gatti, Mosely, Cotto) before he makes the fights happen.

you can put an asterisk next to just about all of his fights since Castillo/Corrales imo

you do realize that he has been calling all of these guys out since he was at 130-135 when they were all at their peak(except Gatti . . . that fight just happened, and Gatti [god rest his soul] was not even from the same planet). Not to mention that he would have been the much smaller fighter!

Yeah I can sit back and throw that **** out there to after all the **** the *****sexuals gave to Pac for his catch weight bouts.

But instead of doing that I am going to look at it in the sense of the sport saul often comes in at 153, so how hard does he really have to work to take off that 1 extra pound? all he has to do is take a healthy dump before he gets on the scales.

Likely he will be just under around 151.5 Most of you would think Floyd is draining this guy which could be argued. But knowing this sport and knowing how to cut weight I suggest if anything this catch weight does is it brings in a very in shape Saul Alvarez.

Cutting that extra pound and a half IMO will prove to be a benefit to Saul he is 22 his body can be manipulated like that because he is so young.

This will not only help his stamina in the fight with the extra push, but it will also help out his hand speed which he will need for this fight.

This is not taking place at 147, this isnt taking place at 150, this is at the right weight, Ideally I think that it helps Canelo more than Floyd and his followers will expect it to...
