As a Wlad fan, part of me wants Haye to win this match.

I disagree... THE champ takes on all the top challenges.
The Champ would not let someone else call themselves champion.
The Champ leaves no doubts as to who the best is.

Wlad can not do this as long as his brother is around. He may be the best in the division (think he is, but oddly enough, I also think he would lose to Vitali due to a styles thing) but he can't claim to be THE undisputed champ.

Wlad would win against Vitali and Wlad talkes all top contenders who where willing to fight. And he makes his mandatories.

Haye challenges Wlad and Wlad fights Haye so Wlad is

    The Champ.

I said the contract was delayed due to Haye changing the deal AFTER verbal agreements and the contract was in his hands. (3 times) He was acting and is acting like a *****....

Haye couldnt secure the venue (actually wouldnt give the venue a written guarantee. Haye didnt want to take the financial risk) so Wlad steps up and secures the venue, now Haye tries to Blast Wlad about "Wlad is just looking for any advantage he can get having the venue in Germany"

Then Haye signs the deal after months of talks with many Lawyers on both side with both sides giving and taking. As soon as Haye signs, he runs to the media and complains about it.... total ***** move

So, you wouldn't have considered Larry Holmes the champ even when he dominated his division for so many years as WBC champ? He never unified the titles and there were only two back then. Most boxing analysts consider him not only the champ but a great alltime heavyweight fighter. The titles are mostly meaningless and politics stops complete unification. Everybody with any sense knows Wlad is the real champ at heavy and has by far the best resume. Just like they know Holmes was the man back in his day. All the other contenders keep falling short.

There is a difference between Holmes and Wlad's reign. Holmes was clearly cleaning house! During Wlad's reign, there is his brother, who is just as good as Wlad, and also holds a title. There is an argument to be made for Vitali as the best. I understand that brothers should not be expected to fight each other, but it leaves us with a situation of uncertainty that can only be cleared up by one of them not being a titlist.

A more apt comparison for Wlad's/Vitali's fractured reign is Lewis and Holyfield. Only, if Lewis and Holyfield refused to ever fight each other.

That don't fly. Wlad has by far the better resume and has indeed cleaned out his division as impressively as did Holmes. Did you forget the Scott Ledouxs, Scott Franks and Reynoldo Snipes Holmes routinely fed on back in the day. Hell Snipes even managed to knock Holmes down for several seconds but the great Holmes adjusted and took care of business. Wlad has beaten one top ten and top five challenger after another since winning the title in brutal fashion from Chris Byrd and beat a co-champion in Sultan. He is the man at heavy and, of course, he won't fight his brother. It's just a weird historical occurence that Wlad's only brother was good enough to win a belt and Wlad's not going to mess up his brother.

Well in that respect Haye was never THE Cruiserweight champion was he.

I mean all the Haye fans aswell as Haye himself claim he was THE champ as he was undisputed apart from the fact that there was an equally good fighter by the name of Steve Cunningham who was the IBF champion.
