As an Abraham fan, I'm worried about the Taylor fight....

Didn't stop Taylor getting KO'd by Karl Froch though did it?

When did Abraham become a come-forward, pressure fighter? :think

Abraham doesn't walk people down, he hangs back and makes opponents come to him and when they step inside he makes them pay a high price for their punches, and eventually they just crumble, because they are being hurt to the body and most of what they are throwing is being slipped or caught on gloves.

That's the biggest problem for JT, he needs to be accurate.

Because trying to out-work Abraham, but not having the accuracy, means hitting gloves all night, and eventually gassing. I mean, JT gassed against Froch, and Froch was EASY to hit and has a HORRIBLE defence - AA is HARD to hit and has an EXCELLENT defence.

I think that JT has to be the favorite here...outcome three seems to be unrealistic though. This tournament is huge and AA will only win a DS if he really earns it (and I can't see any way he can win this fight by rounds).

AA has a strong defense and will destroy Taylor in my opinion. He is more powerful then Froch but won't concede as many shots. So effectively AA will box Taylor the way Froch SHOULD have. I also think he will have more energy levels at the 168 and it will show.

I normally cover myself in these sorts of close fights by saying " I think this guy will win...but". However, I've got a real feeling JT is gonna pull something special out of the bag, a schooling in fact. Think of his fight against Froch up until round 10.

I expect Taylor to win by 10-2 (but probably 7-5 on the dodgy judges cards!!!). The 2 guys that Taylor has lost to are extremely busy big time pressure fighters. Abraham takes too much time off in rounds for him to fluster JT IMO. And Taylor getting KO'd has been due to gassing and a culmination of big punches rather than one big hit, so Abraham's power, although a worry, isn't a great worry.

The Kessler Vs Ward fight is probably the worst for Kessler stylistically in this tournament, as Ward has the in and out speed to make Kesslers upright stance look stupid at times. But I'm still not convinced on Ward's chin, and Kessler's experience and strength should see him through.

Dirrell is a bit of an unknown quantity as he's never fought at this level before. He has great speed and natural talent, but Froch (despite be a little technically limited) is a very intimidating and imposing figure at 168, and he'll be hitting very hard and will be in Dirrell's face all night. I see a mid round KO for Froch here!!!

    Very intriguing bouts.

Abraham was killing himself to make 160. He took time off in rounds because he was always weight drained and worried about his stamina. Fighting at 168 should mean he is more active, and confident in his ability to fight for the full 12x3.

Taylor was much quicker at 160 than he was against Froch. The speed Taylor has shown there doesn't bother me at all against Abraham. If Taylor wins, it will have to be his defense, not his offense. I hope Taylor comes with the brutally shitty stupid to no end excuse for a gameplan of boohapless and tries to bully Abraham going all-out in the first round. That would be a 100% sure win for Abraham, by KO. I would be concerned when Taylor comes all defensively, just trying to bank rounds and keep away from trouble.

I've been watching AA since fight 12, and then he was a walk them down...back before he learned to jab and defence.
His main fault is relieing on his one punch power and or a single dammed quick flurry.

Some of those guys like the Arustrilian Harmon, and a few others were pretty good fighters including Oral...it's just you never heard of them....that is not my fault.

It should be a good fighter.

AA...well he was dodged by both Pavik and Strum...so he's no where the bum some here make him.
AA tried for something like two years to unify and no champion wanted a piece of him.
And in Germany they would get better money than elsewhere.

See the bold, and please, DO TELL ME, how much did Sauerland offer Pavlik to fight in Germany. No bull****, give me specifics.

I am picking Taylor to outbox Abraham because he's at disadvantage stylistically. Don't underrate Taylor as he has fantastic boxing skills and can easily outbox AA. You can't rule out the late stoppage for Abraham though.

I think you're on to something.

AA being the slow starter that he is, maybe JT's camp will try to bank the early rounds. That might be a mistake. Yeah, i think JT winning this fight is based more on his defense than his offense. We all know he's going to hit AA many times. The question is, when he starts to wear down and AA starts to push on the gas late, does he have the defense to slow AA down? The Froch fight and any of his previous fights say "no." He's got to be able to stop getting hit so easily when someone is coming right at him.

Maybe if JT tries to simply outpoint AA, he might have a chance. He'll have more stamina late. But i don't think JT changes all of a sudden. He'll let his hands go when he sees an opening and i think he'll see plenty early in the fight.

No Idea but they offered Strum 2.5 million Euros, or about $4 million dollars, and that was with out any ppv...in the boxing is on Free TV in Germany.
So Pavlic would have been offered at least $4 million, and guess what hotshot....AA said he'd been glad to travel to the states to fight Paclik.

And so with ppv and $4 million to fight in the states....Pavlik respectfully declined.

I seem to remember Kalle Sauerland specifically denying that figure on Steve Bunce's show one time...

Bull**** and specualtion. Give me a link to a single article that outlines specifics of an offer. You can't do that because no legitimate offer was ever made. Furthermore, Sauerland admitted to Rafael that they NEVER offered Pavlik a fight in Germany. They claim they wanted a fight, and yet they never offered a fight in Abraham's largest and most lucrative market!

When Sturm claimed that Sauerland was full of ****, Sauerland produced proof of his offer within a day or two. He has NEVER produced a single shread of evidence that they ever made a realistic offer to Pavlik. Why? Because no real offer was ever made. Pavlik said Abraham likes to talk big, but it's a different story when it comes time to negotiate. Sauerland did not respond. Odd isn't it? Sauerland responded to Strum very quickly, but it's a different story where Pavlik is concerned.

Abraham at 160 was the very definition of paper titlist, and his career is nothing more than a carefully crafted marketing gimmick. His next fight is with a two time Pavlik victim who lost 3 of his last 4 fights. I will admit that Pavlik's left overs are a big step up from McKart and Joval's left overs!
