This lol. People suck off that wladamir win but Wlad lost to fury like 1 year prior and looked like str8 dog crap against by Jennings a year before that People y’all abojt the Wlad fight like AJ beat a prime ali. The reality is Joshua struggled with an over the hill Wlad.
To many cooks and all that imo...Let McCracken do his thing, Klit can bell him now and then or pop in on camps to say hi, but I don't think a trainer would like that situation where someone is giving advice and not them. Depends how much input I suppose Wlad would be having
I'll tell you what the Wlad fight took out of him which was confirmed in that Barry Hearn video. He realised that if he gets an L on his record then his earning potential in terms of everything from endorsements, to freebies to fight purses gets hit significantly. That's as big a reason why he's now fighting like Wlad.
Joshua boxed intelligently against Parker but it was a dull dull fight. I hope the Povetkin fight isn't another stinker but good chance it will be.
As an AJ fan i think he is considering the longevity of his career based on the aggressive way he fights and has been implementing more defensive aspects to his game to make him a more rounded fighter. He is still learning on the job. Im hoping the agression comes back to an extent as he tries to balance out everything he is learning. Also I think he had an eye on Wilder and his belt during both the Takam and Parker and did not want to drop the ball just before endzone as such. With that fight just around the corner he wasnt going to take any chances, although turns out it wasnt just around the corner cuz chicken **** Deontay had crossed the street looking for bums. He has said in a few interviews he is going to go back to the old aggressive Joshua, i hope he is more but i hope he can blend the attacking style with some of these more defensive things hes been learning. Dont get me wrong I love a Boxer who just comes out swinging for the fences but weve got a few of them at heavyweight already id rather see Joshua get more and more polished as he goes.
Can you imagine how stupid Usyk will make him look after the 6th or 7th Joshua gassed and trying to deal with Oleksandr’s speed and movement. Lol
If Steward was around he'd obviously benefit from such a great trainer but he'd be doing what McCracken is doing in regards to making him more boxer less brawler and minimise risks by boxing more behind the jab, clinching more and pacing himself better as this is basically what Steward did with Lewis and Wlad. So personally I don't think he's stagnating he's just evolving as a fighter. Wlad took a few losses before adopting a more measured and calculating approach, at least Joshua has done so without needing to lose before making the necessary changes to have more prolonged success which I think he wouldn't of had, had he kept getting into life and death brawls.
Stagnating? Joshua was going to be the slower, less active and have the weaker jab when fighting Parker, according to many on here. He threw more punches, kept Parker away for 12 rounds with his jab and was quicker than Parker. Anthony Joshua - 95% KO Wladimir Klitschko - 77% KO Lennox Lewis - 73% KO (Joshua's resume obviously isn't as deep as the two above, but both failed to knock out non-World level HW's at times). Lewis/Klitschko were just as 'Boring'. An exciting fighter isn't necessarily a good one. Joshua is improving fight by fight, certainly not stagnating.
Seems like Joshua has broken another record besides a 19 fight unified HW champion ,hes now stagnated in 21 fights? lol
Disagree completely if That fight is fought from the outside wilder wins, wilder is more dangerous from range than aj. Joshua is better at mid range and wilder is a slow starter in the wilder fight he has to be aggressive from the get go fight mid range and inside and back up wilder try and get him out early.
