the only fighter you can even have an argument that Floyd ducked is Antonio Margarito.

lets analyze one thing here.. as far as Cotto goes.. Mayweather beats him now,or anytime in the past.. he will always have Cottos number and will always beat him no matter at 140 or 147. Sure it would be a tough fight but Mayweather would win no doubt.

As for Williams. he is a freak of nature and would beat Mosley, Oscar, pretty much any convential fighter who is smaller than him he will beat. Even Margo was almost the same height was beaten by Williams lateral movement and faster hands and accuracy.

Mayweather wanted the fights at 140 vs Hatton and vs Cotto. he would have been undisputed 140 pound champ then gone on and faced Zab for the undisputed welterweight crown as it was suppose to happen as planned.

Sigh, I remember being involved in like a sixty page debate covering this in detail already. It was about a year ago, see if you can find the thread.

So, because you say Mayweather would have beaten Margarito any day of the week, Mayweather should be forgiven for ducking him?

First of all no im not saying he would have beat Margo in fact I think Margo might have beat him. thats coming from a big fan of Mayweathers.

I never said he would beat Margo Williams and Clottey either. But then again I think those are all real real good fighters.

But lets be honest here.. Mayweather doesnt even belong at welterweight he belongs at the most 140.

And a paper champ in 4 divisions? then almost every other fighter must be a "paper champ" too..

The Hatton - Mayweather fight should, in hindsight have happened instead of Hatton - Collazo.

Cotto and Mayweather should have faced off say Dec. 05 for the right to face Hatton, who was (and still is) consensus No. 1 at the weight at that point.

Instead Hatton almost lost to Collazo, whilst Mayweather moved up to 147 and Ricky had to follow to get the fight on.

Mayweather wanted no part of Cotto and thats a sad thing as i think he would have Ud'd him.

Margo is a different animal though, I can see two things happening either PBF boxes his ears off over 12 and makes it easy or Margos strength and relentlessness gets the better of Mayweather. DLH pushed him close with just workrate and steady pressure, if DLH has the gas for a hard 12 rounds he would have won.

margo has the stamina to keep the pressure on and can grind out a decision himself.

This is a brilliant match and should happen!

so you're saying...he wanted to fight cotto when he was green, but soon as he gained some experience and was proven to be dangerous for any fighter, he no longer wanted to fight him?, because thats what it sounds like....

but look here, you can say Mayweather would win, but thats just your speculation......it hasn't been proven, and it hasn't been proven for a reason....Mayweather is frightened to fight a fighter that he's not certain he can win against

as far as balls go, Mayweathers no warrior, this everyone knows....

if you think he's a great fighter, then sure.....i'd agree with you, and so would pretty much everyone else, because as far as skill-set and attributes go, they're aren't many fighters now or in history that top his.....

but what sets him apart from the greatest of ATGs, the most remembered boxers, the legends...is the fact that he was not a warrior, the fact that he didn't have the heart to fight the greatest fighters out there

thats what sets him apart from a Robinson, Duran, Ali, Hearns, Leonard, Tito, etc. etc......and thats why years or decades from now, Mayweather won't be mentioned in the same breath as those guys, you feel me?

because not all those ATGs have all the great attributes, not all of those all time greats are complete fighters....but the one thing they have in common, is that they're all warriors, they all had the heart to fight the best fighters out there win or lose, time and time again, and Mayweather doesn't

you can't look back on guys like those and say "oh well, why didn't Ali fight this guy?, or why didn't Holyfield fight that guy?, or why didn't Hopkins fight him?"

you know, you just cant do that.....or if you can, you can probably only think of 1 person at the most, not a whole list of guys like with Mayweather....

and thats why people call him a cherrypicker, thats why he catches all the **** he does, thats why he's probably the least respected, most critized #1 P4P fighter in history.....and ultimately, thats why his fans have to make these kinds of threads, because at the end of the day his "Legacy" has alot of question marks

and all questions mark lead to these little "fantasy threads"...."Mayweather would beat Cotto"

how often do you hear about any ATG's fantasy fights that didn't take place even though they were fighting in the same era?, and as much as you do with Floyd?
