I was hoping for Pavlik or Ooszthuizen, because Ooszthuizen is a southpaw and huge, which could've prepared him for the rematch...

 Give him a break. It's just a stay-busy type fight.

And noone's gonna' forget that after just one easy fight. He's been involved in a pretty demanding tournament which was followed up immediately with what most thought was gonna' be another gruelling fight (Bute). He may have come through that like a walk in the park, but mentally he deserves a soft touch now. I'm a Froch critic, and I have no problem with Yusuf Mack as an opponent.

Flower, you are not Froch's biggest fan. You're not even in the top 1,000.

As far I am aware Oosthuizen didnt want the fight and I doubt seriously Pavlik would have been interested in the fight. So much risk for him and wouldnt be getting a huge purse as a challenger on the way back and he is effectively 1 defeat away from obscurity.

It's not the world greatest fight but will still be worth watching.

Good fight. Yusef Mack is a decent boxer and if his stamina wasnt horrid hes be a top 10 light heavyweight. Stay busy fight and if he's not on his A game could be difficult for him until Mack runs out of gas like he always does

"Froch biggest fan":patsch ...... you're just a poor troll like all we are here on ESB:yep:deal

Froch's team surely had some discussion with team Pavlik and team Oosthuizen but probably they weren't agreed with the venue and declined Froch's offer.

As everybody said here, if is someone who deserves an easy touch, is definitely Carl Froch.:yep
