As good as Lomo is, lets not forget he was handled by Salido!

Loma fought well, but he should've handled Salido imo.

Lomachenko obviously handled Salido. Salad was the one holding on for life, he was lucky that Lomachenko paced himself that much and left it too late. Let's also not forget the weight issue and the horrendous ref job.
Lomachenko is fighting Martinez, not Fortuna.

On the contrary what about him allowing MAIDANA to hit Broner in the back of the head throughout the 36 minute fight. Nobody cried then. Loma learned a life lesson like Cotto did Judah.

Lomachenko hasn't improved his boxing game in anyway IMO since the amateurs. He just changes the way he scores now being in longer fights. He paced himself too much in that Salido fight. He's the number one boxer in the sport, nobody will beat him.

Lawrence Cole is the worst of the top line referees and should never be appointed to fights of such importance.

El Chicanos thread brought up a great point. When it comes to certain fighters dirty tactics are allowed and cheered by fans than when it pertains to others.

Salido did hit Lomachencko with veteran tactics that he knew only comes with experience. You can blame the ref or applaud his consistency since he also let Marcos Maidana hit Broner in the same affect with looping blows to the back of the head.

Take Tony Weeks allowing Maidana to fight dirty in the Mayweather bout and Robert Garcia commending it and saying, " Sometimes you gotta fight a little dirty", and smiling about it.

Months later when Brandon Rios faces Diego Chaves and Diego fights Rios dirty you can nearly hear Robert crying to the ref about it. Why is that? He had no qualms about another fighter getting low blows and elbowed by "HIS" fighter but when the roles are reversed he was appalled.

:good The only thing Salido handled was Loma's nutsack. That wasn't boxing it was sexual assault.

If you were Salido but knew you couldn't beat an Einstein on the basis of boxing, would you play to win using a losing strategy, or would you play to win in all ways possible?
There's nothing moral about boxing anyway, you're literally hurting a human being for money.
Why would you fight any different to Salido if you're about winning? Salido was not willing to lose to a man with only 2 pro fights, at the end of the day.
How on earth can SALIDO beat Lomachenko in a pure boxing match?

If you don't play to win, you're not doing things right. Professional boxing is not having a pure boxing match, it's fighting to win, and doing whatever you can get away with that helps you. If you step into the professional boxing paradigm, you must adopt its principles and stop sulking. There are extremes, such as loading your gloves - such things are abhorrent. Low blows (virtually none of them directly hit Loma's nuts) suck, sure. But it's not on the same echelon.

Everyone meets their stylistic threats, Mayweather met Castillo and lost according to majority. If one of the TBE's Mayweather can lose to an elite stylistic threat, then anyone can. But given how good Loma is, I still believe he will weather a storm like Francisco Vargas.

I'm more impressed with who he has fought up to this point in his career.

I thought Salido won that fight clearly. He obviously fought a little bit dirty with some questionable low blows. He could've been deducted a point or 2 along the way, but that's the ref's decision. Regardless, Salido was able to fight him in the manner he did and clearly beat him.

I'd imagine Loma would beat him in a rematch, but you can never count out Salido. He's a tough guy.

On a side note, Harry Greb was one of the dirtiest fighters to ever fight and had mediocre boxing skills at best but he's widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters who ever lived.

When you're a pro boxer, you need to know how to adjust to any style that's thrown at you inside the ring. That includes taking on someone who's fighting a bit dirty on the inside.

I'm sure it was a lesson learned for Loma and now he recognizes you won't be able to always win fights by keeping it "clean."

    Beautifil performance by Salido
He made the amateur look like an amateur
Loma was lost clinching for his life looking at his corner like where is my headguard?
