Williams would beat PBF at his own game by outpointing him with an extremely high volume of potshots. It would be a sort of poetic justice but you will never see this fight. Floyd would rather face Margarito and Cotto on the same night before he faces Williams even if the money was huge.

Mr. Lampley, I realize you are feeling the sting of the criticism for your biased commentating last night, but there is no need for you to post an article like this the day after a magical victory by Floyd. I thought you were above such petty bull****.

Williams was wobbled by Margarito. I didn't mention Clottey because he has not shown the ability to pull off such a victory and seems to have stamina problems. He is also too slow for PBF in general.

As for Cotto, anyone can be hurt to the body, and Williams is wide open there, if Cotto can make it inside. Cintron losing to Margarito has very little to do him fighting Williams. If he can get inside and start throwing shots to the head, he can hurt Williams. Margarito doesn't hit as hard as Cintron.

As for assumptions, we are all making them. You are assuming that PBF can adjust to a style he has never seen before or anything resembling it and to a fighter who is much taller and has a signifigant reach advantage.

Not sure if he can beat PBF. he definately has a weapon against pbf, his long arms. this is different from cotto, like how the heck is he gonna hurt pbf.

So basically because he is tall with a huge reach, Willaims can beat everybody in the WW division.

All fighter take notice and give said belt to aguywho suppose to be fight a MW anyway.

floyd will not fight williams or cotto until they face each other.

It's not about losing it's about money and an undisputed championship fight pitting floyd coming out of retirement after a year to face a young prime cotto vs williams winner would do massive numbers.

whoever wins out of cotto vs williams would be the favorite to beat "lil" floyd who would be going on 32 coming off a 1 year layoff facing a monster like cotto or williams. for the 2nd time in his career floyd would be the underdog (corrales).

So basically you are stating it will be a tossup between Willaims and Money...that I can agree on.

I think Williams would be able to beat PBF. I think PBF would beat Cotto. I think Cotto beats Williams. I am certainly not counting PBF out. There is always someone out there who gives even the best fighters trouble. For Mosley, it was Forrest. (I think Forrest would have been a difficult match for PBF back then too...)

    You think? How so?

I see Floyd landing plenty of clean shots, but he won't be able to sit in a defensive posture and dictate rhythm the way he insists on doing. Williams isn't going to pose and he isn't going to charge forward. He just throws and throws and flails and doesn't care if he's in good position. That's why Floyd won't be able to time him well enough to set up a methodical offense. Won't work.

If Floyd is the prison kingpin, Williams is the crazy inmate who scares him.

Paul Williams can kiss Floyd Mayweather's ass. He doesn't deserve Floyd and I ain't even a fan of Floyd but that is crap.

Money knows what the word DEFENSE is...Willians does not.

You can be tall and throw 1,000 punches a round but if you are not landing any of them, what does it matter....Remember Clottey vs. margarito. margarito enjoyed height & reach over Clottey and for the 1st 4 rounds before he hurt his hand, Clottey defense nullified Margarito 1,000 punch output and he couldn't miss with his right hand.

imagin Williams trying to break Money D plus Money is the most accurate puncher in boxing, he would just throw up a Winky Wright type guard (as he did with Judah) and walk him down with pinpoint accurate punches because Williams is not going to hurt him because he's a slapper.

Money can adjust to any situation.
