I just thought I would add my own. If you cant beat em, join em!
Its just a small point, but I seen the Hatton ad today, the one where the boxing ring crashes through the man city pitch, with big rumbling sounds.
Then it cuts to Hatton, & despite SKY's camerawork, Hatton looks ****in terrible.

& I dont mean hes looking ugly or any childish **** like that, I just mean hes looking TERRIBLE.
His skin looks old & sagging, & I always tell people here thats a sign of a man struggling to make the weight. sorry to be so obsessive about it, but Ricky is getting older now, & dragging himself down to jnr welter AGAIN. I saw the danger signs the minute I clapped eyes on him in that ad, & I think hes making a mistake going back down to his old weight. He simply doesnt look healthy anymore making his old weight, & I think he could be making a mistake trying to get back to his old weight in an attempt to relive his 'glory' years.

Just watch the ad people if you think Im hating, & I dare you to come back & tell me Hatton looks good in the short clip.

I may be making a mountain out of a molehill, but I always think its dangerous when a fighter tries to go back down in weight to recapture their youth. Just thought I would speak my mind.

I havn't seen the ads Dunky so I'll take your word for Hattons condition but I think he has a really easy choice. Either fight at 140 or retire, he's just not cut out physically to be a world class Welter IMHO.

He has little choice. He's a small JW and a tiny Welter; it's just a shame that's where the real big fights are at.

I haven't seen the promo, will try and check it out though.

I thought that he looked a bit run-down and old in the interviews I've seen, never seen him look ropey like that before but whether it means anything for his boxing I don't know. Have to wait and see.

Yeh I got a funny feeling Hatton might not make 140lbs. Apparently he is really ill at the moment.
Quite simply he needs to get of the beer and fast food. His lifestyle is not a healthy one, even when he is training because he has to diet and exercise so hard to get down.
He has often faded in the later rounds of fights. People can say what they want but Rickys biggest flaw is inbetween training.

I agree with your point Dunky and you are correct but Hatton always lookes terrible when he is n training. He only seems to look fit and healthy the day before the fight, I have never known a fighter to look as ill as he does 24/7 during training.

I was expecting to see a Ricky Hatton looking like Mark Fowler on a bad combination but he ain't that bad. He always boils down and then they bulk him up in the lead up to fight night. I've heard him say before how his body suddenly bulks up and muscles appear, doesn't sound healthy but that's the way he's always done it.

I don't know much about conditioning and weight issues but I always though it was the simple lack of height and reach that hindered Hatton at Welter, the difference in weight being negligable.

He looks a dead ringer for Chesney off Corrie when he crosses his arms at the end.

i've seen him worse than that before, he's not got as many plukes or spots than he normally has, not so sure if he'd risk puting on a poor show on his big homecoming

Been reported on The Mirror's website that Hatton is unwell - on antibiotics and advised to rest by Doctor.

Apparently he has a chest infection and has been forced to stop training ahead of his upcoming fight - been so poorly his sparring partners have been sent home.

he's a tiny welter? Miguel Cotto, who people talk of a monster, is only an inch taller than Hatton according to the stats. Now I know that's not the only relevant stat...but still. How short can his arms be compared to someone like Cotto? He's pretty broad too is Hatton.
