This is very true, he often breaks out in cold sores etc, and he also seems to get ill a fair amount in training

I'm no doctor but I have no doubt the lifestyle plays its part

That said, when the ad was shot, would he even be at an advanced stage of cutting the weight?

I can't see him struggling to make weight to be honest, there's never been a hint of it before.

He IS past his best as a physical specimen though, no doubt about that in my mind.

Believe me Hatton is a small JW let alone Welter. He has only ever fought 3 people shorter then him in all of his 44 fights at JW. His reach is also small. Even Pac is bigger statwise.

Cotto is a inch and a half to 2 inches taller and has a 4 inch reach advantage over Hatton and he's not the biggest of welters.

Floyd is two inches taller and has a 7 inch reach advantage. Hatton is too small for Welter just as Cotto and Mayweather would be for say the middles. It shouldn't be used as a stick to beat him with;to say he's crap. The guys really been punching above his weight (size stats) so to speak.

Size wise Hatton has more business at JW and 135, but it's very unlikely he'd make the weight now at his age.

Hatton's stamina has been looking poorer by the fight, so it really wouldn't be any suprise if that trends continues.

How did this trend manifest itself in the Castillio fight?:huh;)

I don't even think the Mayweather fight was down to poor stamina, he just got beaten by a better fighter.

His pace looked slower In the Mayweather fight and against Urango after 4 rounds, he had to hit and hold at a slow pace too.

Apparenty he had flu (I know, boxers sometimes say these things but he's never used ill health as an excuse before) before the Urango fight, had no problem with JLC and then lost to Mayweather by late KO.

Theres no evidence of a trend of declining stamina in those 3 fights whatsoever.

Urango caught him with bodyshots which slowed him down, plus he was ill.

And Mayweather kept jabbing to his stomach, which slowed Hatton down.

Think that's the key to getting to Ricky, you need to take him apart at the body and he'll slow down quite a bit. (Works as a general rule against anybody, but Hatton in particular)
