You said why are people upset if Canelo is fighting a mandatory. Thats false, Yildirim isnt Canelo's mandatory, he never was.
He was Benavidez's mandatory, and they should still fight next. Why dont Canelo fight the winner ? He never mentioned Benavidez, or the WBC SMW title until it was vacant. Clear as day cherrypick, you can spin it how you like, it wont change that

Yildirim isn't Canelo's mandatory, he was the "mandatory" for the WBC Super Middleweight Title. But why should he still fight Benavidez next when Benavidez just lost the title on the scales? Benavidez is currently suspended. Benavidez has no ability to fight for the title as a result from him not making weight. And he didn't just barely miss the weight he missed it by several pounds. 2.8 pounds to be exact.

Is your argument that Benavidez shouldn't be punished by missing the weight and should deserve to jump right back into a title shot for a belt that he just lost on the scales? That's a ridiculous argument, if you can't even come close to making the weight of a title that you hold, then you're probably in the wrong weight class or you didn't even care enough to try to make the weight. Either way, you have no right to jump the line of other more deserving challengers who can make the weight.

For a Champion to miss the weight of a title he is defending by nearly 3 lbs, that's embarrassing. And at minimum, he should be suspended and have to prove that he can actually make the weight in this weight class before given another title opportunity over more deserving and professional fighters like Canelo or Yildirim who are hungry and who aren't known for missing weight.

You or anyone else arguing that Canelo is cherrypicking Yildirum here is one of the dumbest arguments I've ever heard. Because you didn't hear that he was interested in fighting Benavidez before he lost his title on the scales??

That has nothing to do with the opportunity presenting itself like when a title is vacated. Had Benavidez ever talked about fighting Canelo? If Benavidez was serious about fighting Canelo for his title, maybe he should have not came in nearly 3 lbs over and lost his title on the scales. Maybe he should have called Canelo out. Instead he embarrassed himself by not making weight, showing that he's not a serious Super Middleweight Champion or Challenger. Benavidez has lost any arugment he had to defend his title against Canelo or to challenge again for the title he just vacated on the scales.

These people do not like to be called out they just want to continue hating on Canelo and making up whatever kind of BS it takes to make their sorry arguments.

I will continue to call out these kind of irrational, nonsensical arguments that are used in a severely flawed attempt to argue that Canelo is cherry picking somebody when he's stepping up and fighting for the Full WBC World Title that has been vacated by a guy who couldn't even make the weight of a title he was defending, which is embarrassing for Benavidez. Benavidez has no right to re-challenge for a title that he just lost on the scales over more deserving challengers like Yildirim who was the #1 challenger or Canelo who is a multi-division Champ with no history of not making weight. Benavidez now goes to the back of the line after he embarrassingly lost his title on the scales.

 

I'm sure he will just talk in circles until you run out of energy. That seems to be the prevailing strategy

What has Yildirim done to be named#1 contender ?? The Ginger Fake sees another easy title & goes for it. Now if he was REALLY the superstar the Clenelites claim he'd be wanting Beterbiev not Yildirim Dazn would like that one too. the reason Yildrim is being touted as an opponent is a simple money issue. First the fight was offered to Saunders, then derevyanchenko, then smith and finally ryder, neither wanted to cut their potential purse below 5 million, cash that isnt available right now because due to the pandemic and the dificulties in putting together the event its likely its going to lose money. So thats how yildrim, a no mark , is offered the fight. They discuss canelo next fight every week in combate espn .
