As it turns out, the WBC didn't actually order Canelo to face Yildirim

...and if it isn't obvious, this is all planned a staged to put the belts into people's hands. No wonder GGG had no hope with the judges.

got his ass kicked by GGG twice and got away with 0 losses on his "record" out of it thanks to owning the judges.. so not suprising if he is picking his mandatorys at times also.

Highly debatable that Yildirim beat the nearly 50 year old Mock even. Let's not forget that Eubank Jr. utterly annihilated him. Yildirim is not a world class fighter. He is domestic, European level at BEST.

I was talking about rankings. I seem to remember that Mock had a nice ranking at the time.
That and some sanctioning fees explain Yildrim´s position within the WBC rankings.

Yeah I got your point man. I was just using the opportunity to **** on Yildirim. Politics are why he's in the position he's in. Not skill or accomplishments as you pointed out. There are many guys ranked below him who would take him to school.

Eubank didn´t even take him to school. He just destroyed him.
But credit to Yildrim, he managed to do really well vs Anthony Dirrell. Anthony is nothing to write home about, but he destroyes lesser fighters.
    So Yildrim isn´t complete trash.
Well at least not at 168 lbs.
Probably somewhere in the top 20, or close to it.

Not every boxer is the same I terms of years, by posting this repeatedly you are baiting to say that Canelos victory over Kovalev was impressive and not a cherry pick at LHW.

It can still be a respectable win which it is considering Canelos natural weight, but it was definitely planned because Kovalev was shot. It’s evident because he immediately dropped the belt, he had no intention of fighting any other champion at the wright and for good reason.

There’s no need to dress up Beterbiev as an old man as he is the most avoided man (probably) in boxing right now by peers his own natural weight, let alone for a guy loving up two divisions.

I think he is at the Euro level probably and caught Dirrell who always had questionable heart at the right time in his career. Someone like Shishkin who isn't well known would totally school and stop him. Would also favor the 41 year old Brahmer to beat him. So he's not even the best German SMW..

There was no need to dress up GGG as an old man either and he was the most avoided man (probably) in boxing before he had to step in the ring vs Canelo and GGG received two beatings and shattered the predictions of what GGG fans said would happen to Canelo if they fought.

Well GGG was younger when he fought Canelo than Beterbiev is now, and all GGG fans could do was to repeatedly use GGG's age as an excuse to discredit Canelo, many continue to claim that a prime GGG would have beaten Canelo. So if what happened to GGG happens to Beterbiev as well, then can we expect Canelo haters to use the same argument that Beterbiev was 36 by the time Canelo fought him, that Canelo was "aging" him, or anything along those lines as has been argued for GGG, the fact that Beterbiev is even older than GGG was when GGG fans were already using age as an excuse, many have argued that Canelo has fought too many older fighters and needs to be fighting younger guys. I'm sure Canelo and his team would have rather fought Sounders or Caleb Plant but these guys clearly do not want that work. They are in actuality publicly ducking Canelo, which is shameful, and yet Canelo is getting hated on for choosing to fight for the vacant title, whilst Billy Joe Sounders is suspended by the BBBoC for making videos about how to beat your wife and getting popped for sniffing stuff in his nose and making videos of him trying to buy crack off the street from a hooker.

Why does Caleb Plant get a pass for saying he needed time off when asked about a possible Canelo match? Why does Billy Joe Sniffles get a pass for getting suspended by multiple boxing bodies and Canelo who is actively seeking out competition getting hated on for fighting the #1 contender and fighting for the vacant WBC World Title?

Its the same hate you get if you suggest that Tyson Fury may not be the greatest fighter to ever walk the earth.

my opinion is that the first fight GGG edged it, but Canelo won the second.
Canelo held his own against a guy who consided scary af, but he gets no credit for it.

At that point in time Golovkin had few options. He had little drawing power and other fighters were avoiding him like the plague. Canelo today has major drawing power and can fight whoever he wants. That's the difference. This fight is just bad, especially considering what people like DAZN are paying Canelo. Ginger is going to tip Yildirim into the trash like a 2 week old burrito, there's not the slightest doubt in my mind about it.

Well Canelo has drawing power but other fighters are in fact avoiding him like the plague. And when it comes to drawing power, in the age of the coronavirus and fans not attending matches, no one really has any drawing power presently since arenas aren't allowed to be filled with fans. Until fans are allowed to return to watch boxing matches and be in attendance, there is no real ability for anyone to have a super fight or a major event. So now isn't really the time to make a mega boxing event because you can't fill an arena with spectators. As you know Canelo's matches sell out, so he always brings a big gate when he fights, but with 0 gate in this new normal with the pandemic, then it's not really the right time to make the biggest possible match. If and When the pandemic finally ends then Canelo I bet will look for the biggest possible fight, but as it stands none of the big names at SMW are willing to fight him. Canelo might be the most avoided Super Middleweight in history at this point, so he has that in common with GGG before Canelo conquered him. He also has in common with GGG having no drawing power since no one has any drawing power now during the pandemic. So given the current reality with fans not being able to attend matches and given the amount of people at SMW ducking Canelo, Canelo is simply deciding to fight for a vacant title vs a guy who is actually willing to fight him.
