I just dont see Marquez at 147 when his last was at 135 and Diaz was in his ass in the begining because of his size now to jump to 147 this aint no hasbeen in Mayweather!
its been the year of the upset and the improbable so who knows but I really doubt it.

FMJ does'nt look to KO his opponents especially on his last few fights (except hatton, who rushes headfirst lols), so i dont think marquez should concern himself on that. This will be a tactical fight and imo this will go to the scorecards. Also, i think the weight difference come fight night would'nt be that huge. But of course the fact is this is way above JMM fighting weignt adds another advantage to FMJ.

These catchweights are ruining boxing. It means a win is never a win, there's always an excuse for the loser or a put down for the winner. Example: De La Hoya was weight drained, Ricky Hatton 'I'm the king at 140, 147 is not my weight class' (and then we all know what happened when Hatton fought Pacquaio at 140)

If Marquez loses this fight it will be 'oh he went up too high in weight and was beaten by the bigger guy'

Mayweather thinks he's getting the advantage by making Marquez come up to 147 (that IS his natural weight by the way. He's been at that for a long time now, his body has settled into it) by IF HE LOSES he will have no excuses at all. At least if he went down to a catch weight he could say ala Ricky Hatton: I'm better at 147.

Mayweather has all the advantages going into the fight, weight, speed, skill, chin, size, reach. etc but he has much more to lose if he loses. Marquez can just say - it's not my weight. Mayweather will have no excuses - the only excuse would be that he's been out for 2 years but he's alsmost taken that excuse away by saying he's been training the whole time and running 7 miles a day.

Marquez can say that alright but no one forced him to take this fight, why ask for it if it's not your weight and you make it sound like you're not supposed to be there?

Marquez is doing what Pac did recently and I admire him for that, though if Marquez wins he automatically becomes P4P#1 for me and I'm a Pac fan. I think a win over Mayweather is far better/bigger than a win over DLH or even Hatton, let's not forget Mayweather beat both those guys before Pac beat them and now Marquez is calling that guy out.

I will be glad if Marquez proves me wrong again like he did in Casa and Diaz fights.
If he wins, he earns the fight for a rematch but I don't think he will automatically become #1. There is nothing Pac can do and do it better at this point of the game. If Floyd comes in ring rust form and loses to Marquez, it's like dela Hoya fight all over again. But I have my doubts Marquez can whack it.

Neither man has the power of Pacquaio. They get knockouts from their opponent accumulating punches.

The possibility that mayweather has chosen a smaller man than him to 'beat him up' and try to show that he beat up the man who gave pacquiao hell, appears to have been mayweathers strategy all along. Also, he is basically going to force pacquiao to fight him at 147 if he wins.

There is anoter curious thing to note and that is perhaps mayweather took the time off from the ring to let his hands heal. Mayweather is prone to hand injuries, which leads me to believe that he is looking to ko marquez.
