    Vegas oddsmakers had this right from the start. Canelo was favored for a reason and it had more to do with his opponent than his skill. Kov was obviously shot but it was a good victory for Canelo. Top five or so, maybe six but not top three. If he beats a legit guy like Beterbiev, he’s number one and two. That would be truly historic. Beating an old guy with outside the ring problems and a sketchy recent record is still impressive but let’s not get carried away. I’m glad he KOd Kov because you know this one had bad decision written all over it.

    You brought "stunning" into this. I didn't. But it was a very definitive win with a highlight KO to boot. What's not to like.

    It also appears that he's not a world class fighter either.

    That fight showed us all that Kovalev was no longer an elite fighter.

    Great fight for Canelo for his first fight at 175 lbs. Whether you think it's a cherry pick or not that's a challenge moving up in weight fighting a bigger man. And at the same time it's a very entertaining matchup especially on paper.
