What's up fellow boxing heads. This 5 or so week lull (as far as significant televised fights) in the sport of boxing has been painful at best. Funny thing is, as 11/6 approaches I feel a slight tingling in my belly. Some thoughts and observations I've had the past few weeks... I find myself slowly getting amped up for Pac-Marg. This one could be really exciting and explosive, albeit one sided... Hell I'm getting excited for this entire 6 week run! Just rewatched last 2 rounds of Pirog-Jacobs; man, I can't wait to see DP again! To all the haters out there: J. Kirkland and T. Cloud may not be the slick, defensive boxer types, but I think MANY of you are selling them a bit short. Especially my boy from Austin. I hate sanctioning bodies. I watch MMA and boxing. Religiously. Hands down- a good boxing match is way more fun to watch than a good MMA match. I'll even go as far as to say a good K1 bout is better too. See Chahid-Zambini (?). That said, I do enjoy all combat sports :!: If my thoughts are correct, we should have a very solid first quarter, 2011. The fields are thinning out, slightly, and there are only so many gimme fights (it appears) a few fighters have left. Some collision courses soon... hopefully the "Cold War" doesn't become to insane. I'm talking to you Schaefer and Arum! I can't get enough boxing. Lastly, I find myself really REALLY rooting for Katsidis... just the fact that he is fighting on speaks volumes about his character.
