As of now: Crawford or Lomachenko higher pound for pound?

Loma's best wins are smaller Russel and Smaller Rigo.

You climb the p4p ranks by beating guys from higher , not lower weight divisions.

I know Hopkins made p4p#1 on the back of Trinidad and Hoya wins , but they had made their mark at the weight before Hop fought them. Hop also had put together a very long unbeaten streak and some of the guys he beat were also on the P4P list themselves.

GGG , Loma and Crawford are in the top 3 discussion simply because no one else is out there. None of them are true p4p#1 material imo but given a push its probably GGG given his defense count and number of top 10 guys beaten from his own division.

I think if Canelo beats GGG he's the rightful p4p king.

 

For me, I do my P4P list based on how I think they would do at higher weight classes with their skills, i barely use their resume, as the more elite fighters are usually ducked, like Rigo & GGG. Like people who add HW's onto P4P list kinda makes having a P4P list worthless, as p4p is for the smaller guys. Everybody knows a HW is going **** up a CW, they should be out of the conversation altogether. Like a 300lb weight lifter will always out-lift a 150lb one just from sheer mass. Why is the heavier guy even in consideration for P4P talk as he's already the best.

 

Loma already said Crawford is the P4P best so I guess that ends this thread

 

Holyfield, absolutely, a 6'5 Wald who's a career HW, not for me.

Like if you spoke to a non-boxing fan and they asked "who's the best boxer on the planet" "FMJ is P4P, but Wald is HW champion) That's the way I'll always see it.

I think it absolutely makes sense to include heavyweights in a P4P list. The list is just a measure of boxing ability, and I can see no compelling reason to exclude any division. If you're not going to include the heavies, then why bother including the cruisers? They'd kill a straw weight too. And while we're at it, we might as well disregard the LHWs, the SMWs, etc. etc.

The P4P is only a measure of comparing the skill of boxers from disparate weight categories. Arbitrarily excuding heavies because they're bigger kind of misses the whole point of the list. The list is who is the best, when size is not taken into account.

I disagree, the strongest man in the world is also not the P4P strongest man in the world.

 

I only added Holyfield really because he moved up a weight, I'd have no problem doing the same when Usyk does the same, even though he's in my top ten P4P already.
