And if he beats PBF and take the belt from Cotto or SSM, especially, Pac could make a case for the ATG#1....first ever 7division champ coming from flyweight...:good
They are very close. You could argue Chavez is top 25 all time, really. But Pac has got to be at least even with him at this point. Pacquiao had a HOF career by the time he beat Barrera the first time, to put it in perspective. since then, he's beaten 3 of the greatest Mexican fighters of all time, another top 100 ATG in De La Hoya and arguably one of the 5 best 140 pounders of all time. And some of these guys he has just completely destroyed.
I have Chavez ahead of Pac right now, if he beats Mayweather, he could possibly overtake Chavez but not right now IMO. I rank Chavez & Whitaker level for the best in the last 20 yrs followed by Mayweather then RJJ & Pac either level or RJJ with a slight advantage at this point, Pac has time to climb tho, lets watch with excitement as he does his climbing. :good
Pac has: Marquez Hatton Morales Barrera ODLH (Not too familiar with the lower weights) JCC has: Rosario Camacho Taylor Ramirez Castillo Mayweather Lockridge They are pretty close to each other. I still think JCC has the better resume but a Mayweather victory would definitely propel him above JCC. Both have questionable wins (old fighters, close fights, etc). Pac is still fighting so we should wait and see.
**** the poll, Chavez has been terribly underrated on ESB since day one, I could have told you who would win the poll vote before you put it up but Pac HAS gone up in my book... but still not as great as Julio cesar Chavez who was p4p no1 for about 4 or 5 yrs & reached 87-0 at 1 point before his decline. He was rarely even ran close in his prime. I think Chavez would break him down in any weight from 130-140 too in the h2h but thats of course just my opinion.
almost everybody considers jcc top 3 in the last 20 years...i have him at #2 --that was before last weekend ofcourse
87-0, about 5 yrs as p4p no1 & Id strongly fancy him to bust Pac in the h2h in their primes too. Chavez never lost in his prime either, you have to take this on board when annalyzing both guys.
