As of right now, do you rate Mayweather above the following fighters:

Over DLH, and probably over Jones, right now, too.

 

I guess I'd rank him behind Hagler, Whitaker and Jones.

But above Hearns and De La Hoya.

 

Below all of them as of right now. And I agree with Suzie's sentiments.

 

I rate him over only Jones and De La Hoya.

 

Mayweather would lose to all of the above.

 

To clarify, I mean Mayweather would lose to Robinson, Armstrong, Gavilan, Napoles and Whitaker (again).

Oscar argueably should have lost or drawn with Quartey and Whitaker.
Beat a washed up version of Chavez.
Lured Hernandez, Leija, Molina and Paez to 135, where none of them achieved anything in their careers.
Beat a never-has-been in Vargas.
Beat a crude brawler Mayorga who didn't achieve anything at 154.
Clearly lost to mediocre Sturm according to majority of people who watched the fight.
Beat a mediocre champ in Ruelas.
Beat a Mr. Padded Record in Gonzalez.

 

I know mayweather beat prime hatton, prime castillo, prime corralles, hernandez at 130, not 135. This sweet scientist is turning into a joke.

 

IMO, you should judge with hindsight and with time on your side. In due course Mayweather may over take de la Hoya, indeed of his peers named, but it should be done 10 years after his finest fight not 10 hours.

I have been burnt rating active fighters like Tyson and Curry I am not going to make that potential mistake again.

 

But would Mayweather have done much better against DLH's level of comp? I see him having troubles with Whitaker, Quartey, Trinidad, Mosley, Hopkins and Sturm.

What would Oscar have done against everyone Floyd fought?

 

mayweather would beat mosley, quartey and coke head whitaker, at least floyd fights prime fighters, unlike oscar who just picks on guys when they become grandpas.

 

Oscar has the best list of "name" opponents of the last two decades. But it has to be examined more closely to really evaluate his achievements, they are not as good as they look on paper.
