    Yes. Id would say so.
Both guys out on their feet many times and kept fighting.
    EVERY round was incredible.

I'd say Marquez-Vazquez 2, but it's definitely in the top 3. And certainly a STRONG case can be made for number 1. A truly GREAT fight!

Montiel vs Melendez takes the nod for me so far.

Vasquez v Marquez was anti-climatic in the end, but was sensational to that point, still a great fight though.

This was a good fight though, but not FOTY.

    I haven't see Katsidis v Earl so I can't comment on it.

Agreed. Frankly, it's the best fight I've seen in years, right up there with Castillo-Corrales, imo. That fight had a better ending, but this one had more sustained action.

As far as skill, no. As far as pure vicious bombs with questionable defense and guys getting hurt back and forth, where you just wonder who is going to be knocked out (not if, but when), then this one takes it.

wtf a slugfest is not enough to justify a fight of the year!

that was more than a slugfest. High profile fight, the rarity of having both fighters down in the first round, the ebb and flow, dramatic ending.
