I just changed my #1 from Crawford to Alvarez last week.

Ability for ability, they are even matched but resume are worlds apart and that what elevates Alvarez to number 1 for me.

    Who's your number 1?

I’d agree with you on the Canelo front. Unfortunately it’s the rhetoric used to define P4P that makes any list a mute point. If Canelo suddenly decided to jump up to HW does he seize to be P4P? He wouldn’t be a top 10 heavyweight, so by that logic...

My point being that Crawford may or may not be the best at 147. But he was the best at 140 and 135. P4P should transcend weight classes.

yes, but canelo would be a puny hw, crawford is a natural ww, who used to drain before settling on his natural division.

I disagree in boxing terms. Nearly all top fighters these days drain themselves to make weight. So by that logic Spence should be at 160+. The same with Porter.

of course all fighters cut weight, its the degrees that differ. do you really think that canelo would have the same parity in size with other hw that crawford has with other ww?

Of course not. I was exaggerating the point to highlight the flaw in the logic that you need to be the best in a division to be considered P4P. Any fighter that keeps climbing weight divisions will eventually climb too high. Did Canelo seize to be top 3 when he went to LHW? By your logic he must have, because he certainly wasn’t the best in that division.

no, by my logic, crawford isnt even the best out of the guys his size, while canelo is better than the guys bigger than him. thats the logic.
