I guess tricks77 and myself are the only ones who see eye to eye with Hoya in regards to a fight with Mora.

and if that Mora fight gets blown up DLH really is screwed.

Boxing should black list him, seriously.

Sergiy Dzinziruk: The real #1 Super Welter champ

    Or

How about a HBO super welter tournament for any stars/potential stars who can get down to 154 lbs.. Oscar was once sued for stealing the contender series ideas but maybe he could get SRL, Stalone, and HBO involved this time. Just imagine 24/7 tourney with Margarito, Williams, Dzinziruk, Clottey, Santos, Mora, Trinidad, Oscar, Winky, Spinks, Mayorga, Forest, etc...

:lol:I know its just a silly wish but you never know money talks

I chose Winky Wright because I think it would make a good fight but also because:

Margarito: The obvious choice, yes he SHOULD fight, but he won't. Mexican fans excuse.

    Mayweather: Ain't coming back

Cotto: Too small. Look at what the height disadvantage did to him against Antonio

Trinidad: Would be a terrible fight, 1999 was a long time ago

Williams: DLH would Quintana I him

Pacquiao: I never agreed with this fight. There are better fights
(Campbell...) out there for Pacquiao, not to mention the severe height and reach disadvantages he would face.

Phillips: Questionable credentials, maybe if Oscar wants an easy fight.

Clottey or Mora/Forrest Winner: Would probably rather see Winky, but might make for decent fights.

This is a pretty good possibility, but some other dominos have to fall a certain way, to pave the way, so to speak.

    1. Vernon Forrest has to be on top of his game, and regain his Title next month. This will ensure that Sergio Mora can live up to being Oscar's number one fan, and read his autographed copy of "American Son" every night before he prays to his statue of Oscar.

    2. Pretty Boy MUST stay retired, and do MMA or WWE or be a rap star, or whatever!

    3. Manny Pac must remain a stubborn little *******.

    4. Trinidad should hit all the buffets he can. Hell, maybe his next fight can be at Cruiser.

This will leave Oscar little choice for a big name match up. Julio Jr. has the name, the story and the skill set, to give Oscar a decent fight.

This will happen in May, on Cinco de Mayo Weekend, at the MGM Grand. Jr. needs to get by Vanda, and being that the three judges are from Culiacan, this should be no problem. He will be at 38-0 and has repeatedly called out Oscar, as has his father.

Julio Jr. is NOT an established Superstar. He is NOT a World or P4P Champion. Therefore he CANNOT be demanding like Manny Pac, Trinidad or Floyd. If he were to make 8 million, this should be fine with all including Arum.

Oscar and Arum have connections with the WBC. This can be at 154, for a WBC minor Title, say a green International Belt.

The backstory with Julio Sr. will make for an awesome 24/7 series. Mexican fans will come out in DROVES to see this one, and it could actually be competetive if.....

    A. Julio Jr. spends 6 months training in the same Mexican High Altitude Mountains as Eric Morales.

    B. They hire a defensive specalist, to teach Jr. how to block, parry and dodge punches, and the art of slipping.

    C. Oscar shows his age in this fight.

It would break a lot of PPV records, and sell out the Garden. :deal

Well, I think even in December, the DLH-JCCJr. fight can do as good as at any other date. Hatton never was THAT popular in the US, and still did over 850.000 vs. Mayweather, which is pretty stunning (since 70% of the world-wide PPV buyers were from the UK).

December is a very very strong PPV market, probably better than the May and September Mexican holidays - the Christmas market is international and everyone sits in front of the TV or in a bar. So DLH vs. anyone, but especially JCCJr. makes sense this December...

De La Hoya is a novelty at this point. I think he should fight Trinidad. It makes sense the same way a Jones-Hopkins rematch makes sense. Then they can all fade away gracefully.

I don't think Oscar deserves a fight against Margarito. Besides being a huge money attraction, who has he beat to deserve a shot at the title? I'd rather see Antonio in the ring against Clottey, Berto, Williams or any other young deserving fighters.
