I am surprised to see very little discussion here about Cyborg. There is so much talk about "who's ducking who" on the net between these two. If Ronda Rousey fought Cristiane 'Cyborg' Santos (at a 145 or a 140 catchweight) it wouldn't make much of a difference. I believe Rowdy Ronda defeats Cyborg by 1st Round submission.
Cyborg would smash her to bits. As soon as Cyborg hits her it's game over. I seriously detest Rousey. Scumbag.
This is an objective thread, so whether people agree or disagree, all replies are welcome. I would love to hear what you all think, regardless.
Roidborg would never keep the distance. When and if they fight, I fully expect Ronda to break her arm. And I mean that literally. Cyborg will try to power out and get hurt some kinda bad. I give the fight 3 minutes tops.
Cyborg said one thing about Ronda that I'm surprised no one has mention: She has yet to fight someone who can hit her hard. We don't know how she'd react when she's hit by power. Remember how the Brock Lesnar hype train ended. When good strikers started landing punches upside his face he turned his back like a jr high school amateur and went full turtle. When his grapplin was neutralized he didnt know what to do. Same thing happen to Royce Gracie. We haven't seen any diversity from Ronda. Look at her fights closely ..it's all judo. No movement, kicks, stand up skills and no punch defense whatsoever. When I saw how many times that slow wrestler McMann landed on Ronda while Ronda was charging in for a clinch I knew Ronda wouldnt have much a chance vs Cyborg at 145. Ronda is way too easy to hit even moreso than Lesnar or Royce.
Fights at a weight, calls out a fighter at that weight and then drops a weight knowing that said fighter can't get down, but still calls her out? Not to mention that from most reports she's a a pr*ck of a person.
Let's see. Ronda has never tested positive for steroids. She also doesn't fight while having a massive size advantage on basically everyone she faces. Yea, Ronda is the scumbag. Ronda will treat her like she does everyone else.
she was kind of fat back then ... losing some body fat doesn't make you a POS, though other things might.
She isn't made of muscle like the roider is. She fought her first 4 fights at 145 LOL. Tons of fighters fought their first couple of fights at a higher weight, before going down. Cyborg should probably be fighting at 155.
The build-up wouldn't be a hard sell, considering that most probably still remember Cyborg destroying the last "face of women's MMA" in Gina Carano. Lots of parallels between Rousey and Carano, actually. Both pretty. Both came from nowhere and racked up an undefeated streak using pretty much one style (Muay Thai for Carano, judo for Rousey) - although Carano didn't ever make it as far as becoming a champion. Both were thought of as potentially ushering in mainstream acceptance of women's MMA, and you could argue they did so in tandem. (Gina didn't quite do the job herself, needing Ronda to pick up the baton and take it home - but Rousey might not have been in a position to do so without Carano opening the door before her) Considering how Cyborg just signed with the UFC the other day chances are very good they're looking to make this happen.
