Paul Williams should call Floyd after beating Cintron. Now... make no mistake, Floyd would trouble PW, but... to PW, this fight would make a great deal of sense. He'd get a big paycheck, he'd get to show the world that he is in fact the number 1 pfp. It reaps better benefits than challenging Martinez. Though that too presents a good prospect.

Only trouble is, I'm not sure PW can make 147 anymore and I'm certainly doubtful that Floyd would take PW at 154. I wouldn't.

Right now I expect Floyd to take the fights that will

    1) Make the most money
    2) Build the biggest legacy amongst the widest audience
    3) Care about what hardcore boxing fans think

    in that order.

When his priorities are so clear, it is hard to say he is ducking anyone.

For example, Kostya Zoo has said he may be interested in fighting Mosley, PBF or Pac. (Probably not Mosley anymore) Now if you look at his situation and motivation, then it's impossible to say he is ducking other fighters.

If PBF wanted real boxing fans to sincerely believe that he was trying to prove he was the greatest by taking on the hardest challenges... then yeah he would be ducking. But he clearly doesn't care about that, and he makes little effort to hide that.

This is an honest analysis - however, you haven't drawn it to its conclusion. If he doesnt take the biggest challenges - he cann't be considered a top 10 ATG. Simple. So unless your getting excited about how much money he is going to throw away on shitty american cars - fanboys be quiet about what truly matters. Legacy.

Paul Williams got outboxed by Carlos Quintana in one of his last fights at welterweight, I know styles make fights but what makes people think he can take an infinitely better boxer in Mayweather out?

Williams has a far superior reach but he doesn't use it like he should do.

Williams is a ****ing void of death in the division for anyone smaller than 5'9. He provides a ton of risk for 0 reward(in terms of money).

Paul who? Williams got a gift against Martinez and then Sergio goes and fights the man Williams was supposed to fight in the first place and whoops him two. Size and Skill Martinez is the best opponent for Mayweather

I agree but PBF isn't alone no one at 147 wants any parts of Williams and for good reason.

he had no stamina, no legs. He pulled a Roy last night. he is lucky May gave him the opportunity by bringing the fight forward otherwise Mayweather would of beat him worse. I dont buy that he blew his load.... What Taylor did against Pavlik is blowing your load, what Roy did against Calzaghe just shows how past his prime he was just as Shane did last night. It wasn't necessarily Floyds fault Mosley fought such a bad fight and looked that old, he actually gave Mosley many changes engaging first while Mosley preferred to try and hold on.

Hearns was way too big for Leonard. Ruiz was way too big for Jones.

What reason is that? Sugar Ray Leonard would have taken him on and probably would have beaten him. Why is every fighter afraid to lose to a guy like Williams? If you lose to a fighter like Williams your stock goes up, just ask Martinez.

Thats not true that he provides 0 reward in terms of money. Lets see how much money Mosley was worth and we will have an idea of how much money Williams could make. If we find out the fight did 2 million buys and Floyd made 50 million dollars I think thats more than enough money to fight Williams. Floyd would definitely do better than he did with Marquez fighting Williams.

The only reason Williams is a risk is because hes never headlines a PPV so nobody knows how much of a draw he is. But neither has Martinez. So why not fight Margarito or Cotto if it's all about the least risk most money?

The sad part of your whole thread is that you believe Paul Williams will beat Floyd Mayweather. When in fact...Paul Williams will be Floyd's EASIEST fight. Williams only advantages are just simply being TALL. In the ring, He is as FLAWED AS THEY COME. I have watched fighters with FAR LESS SPEED AND SKILL tattoo the **** out of Paul Williams. If Carlos Quintana can LAND OVER & OVER & OVER again...You honestly believe That The fastest hands in the Sport can not only STARCH him...But make him look silly in doing so!!!
