Alexis jumped weight divisions when he was in his peak also, not as many as Manny, but lets say it meant a lot more back then. Valero is a two weight world champion already and he is relatively untested. That puts it in perspective.
Exactly. Linares as well. Alexis jumped them but also faced the best in every division he was in. Manny is trying to get big fights but beating Diaz at LW when Casamayor, Juan Diaz and Nate Campbell were around means his LW tenure was wasted IMO. Shiny WBC belt aside :good
Arturo Gatti nearly became a 3 division champ...when a fighter like Gatti can nearly do it you have to really look beyond the face value of "3 division champ"...even though he was only a two divvy champ and was bashed silly in his attempt at the 3rd, you get the point.
:good Alexis defended his titles multiple times also. Established "dominance" before he moved up, each time.
90% of 3 division champions are hall of famers and darchinyan has the chance to be a hall of famer next week end
No but he DID agree that Pac would beat arguello too.............nuthuggery at his worst. I did try and revoke some of my statement, I don't dislike him. He just makes too many poor posts lol
E.G 'Carbajal was outboxing Arce and ahead on points when he got caught and stopped at the end' :deal
It was worrying how many posters think Pacquiao is "clearly" ahead of a fighter like Alexis Arguello. I didn't think it had come to that.
