stevenson looked huge in there and alot stronger then valdez, its impossibe to beat someone when theyre technically better, and stronger then you.

It in fact is possible to defeat almost anyone but not with the stupid game plan Valdez was using and repeating over and over with zero success. Shakur was pecking with the jab into that idiotic peekaboo defence....Stevenson always drops his right hand to his hip after every jab....how about JABBING BACK while his arm is down? Pretty simple to do, and maybe you're close enough to follow up with a right hand.

Valdez never ever jabbed back at Stevenson, not once. I'm not saying he could have won but FFS try something that might work!

I agree. Shakur needs to fix that. Valdez couldn't make him pay but others might.

I agree completely. Valdez was a one dimensional, clueless fighter in the ring last night. Once their original game plan didn't work, Valdez and Reynoso did nothing to change it up. A different game plan may not have worked either but they should have tried something. That being said, Valdez showed a lot of heart and never looked like he had given up.

As far as Stevenson goes, I don't want to nit pick a solid win so I won't. What I will say is that for a guy who is supposed to have great boxing skills I was surprised how often he got hit in the head by lead rights even though Valdez was in a peek a boo offensive style. Stevenson has good defensive footwork but he is going to have to work on his head movement.

And keeping his mouth closed. It's always open. Going to get his jaw broken one of these days otherwise. Or maybe it's an ill fitting mouthpiece like Spence had.

One of the strangest comments I’ve ever seen. You’re praising an athlete for not doing their best? Who are these emotional guys you’re talking about? Absolutely bizarre stuff.

His jab don`t have no power, the referee should have stopped Shakur from using is his right glove in front of Valdez face. Shakur used it throughout the fight. The referee just told him " don't do that" throughout the fight. And it wasn't until the 12th round that Shakur was warned. I noticed that when the referee told him not to do it, Valdez had a little more success in getting inside and delivering more punches. But then Shakur got back to it because that was an effective way to keep Valdez at bay. However, I think Valdez was not able to adjust and Shakur is the clear winner and the better boxer.

If Crawford can't teach him to throw a hook he'll never find that gear. He's great on the line, and usually wins his engagements, he just can't add power to his shots. Unluckily for him and us, he's small, so he won't be fighting Haney, Garcia, Teofimo. Maybe Tank tho.

Overall Stevenson looked very solid. He’s progressing nicely and looks big enough to easily fight at 135 where the bigger money lies. He’s still young and developing but has impressive size and skill. I was surprised by his size.

Valdez was a good test but this fight was never in doubt. Valdez didn’t look that good the last time I saw him fight. He was gifted a decision but clearly lost. Maybe he needs the PEDs he was busted for using.

Excited to see who Stevenson fights next. He’s already too good to be a Tank opponent. If they fought, I’d bet heavy on Stevenson. If they fight a year from now, I’ll bet the farm on Stevenson because he’s improving with every fight. Tanknis regressing or at least not getting better. His win over Cruz was questionable.
