Thursday, sixteenth of November, co-headlining a Top Rank on ESPN card (alongside Navarrete vs. Conceição). The vacant WBC lightweight world title will be at stake. Currently the WBC has Stevenson ranked #1 and De Los Santos ranked #6 at 135lbs.
Not sure how smart of an idea it was for Top Rank to put Shakur in with a southpaw southpaw killer. This won't be a cautious performance from De Los Santos, and Ash-Shakur will be balling his eyes out after he gets violently KTFO. This content is protected
Thats a good test for Shakur, but Shakur has too much raw talent to lose to DLS. Shakur by late stoppage.
I got Shakur on a points victory. That said, I'm anticipating this being a bit harder for him than he's used to. He seemed to be getting hit a tiny bit more his last time out, so if that carries over into this he's going to be getting his chin tested. I do expect and back him to win, but I won't be surprised by an upset or if it isn't the usual shutout type of performance. Super stoked for this event, hoping for a banger of a headliner and for a new champion in the co-main. Just 10 days out
I am not sold on de los santos. He caught valenzuela in a wild exchange (something shakur doesn't do) and the guy never recovered, he was also dropped pretty hard in that fight. He then went the distance with adorno, who is not a southpaw but still. Should have gotten that guy out of there. I see a wide UD from shakur coming.
This is his true showcase fight, against a fellow southpaw, very heavy handed knockout artist, Jose Valenzuela, who was coming off of a KO1 victory over Bandido Vargas, who's since gone on to dominate Chris Colbert, in one of 2023's robberies of the year. Give it a watch, it's only 3 very brutal and exciting rounds. This content is protected
