Headlining a Top Rank on ESPN card a week from tomorrow (June 9th). Scheduled for ten rounds at featherweight, non-title; a stay-busy date for Stevenson, whose next WBO title defense was originally supposed to have taken place at Madison Square Garden versus Miguel Ángel Marriaga on March 15th - just a couple of days after COVID-19 restrictions went into place. This will now be the first major televised American boxing event since that second week of March, and will be just the second internationally viewable live boxing since the Nicaraguan card (Ramiro Blanco Hernández vs. Robín Zamora II & Eliézer Gazo Muñoz vs. Byron Javier Castellón VII) in late April. Thrice-delayed Carlos Amado Molina vs. Jorge Michel Muñoz Zavela will precede this by a few days, in Mexico. Caraballo is the WBC Fecarbox champion, and boasts a 13-1-2 (9) record. His only defeat came against current WBO NABO featherweight champion Pedro P. Márquez Medina, by wide decision. His other two blemishes are consecutive draws in his pro debut and sophomore outing. As to whether his power is legit, he does boast a KO3 victory over fringe contender Mario Briones - but it should be noted that Maca has now been stopped 5x in under three rounds, including twice in a row KO-by-2 after facing Caraballo.
I think Stevenson gets the stoppage. It will be interesting to see how much it affects the fighters without fans in attendance.
