Round 2 Butler reaches over the top and brushes Sexton's forehead with right hands. Sexton is jogging back and throwing a looping jab, still the more awkward offensive fighter. Butler throws everything straight and narrow, with snap. Hook off the jab by Butler and Sexton holds. Sexton grinds Butler into the ropes and puts a bit of forearm in his throat. Body shots traded back and forth as they writhe and bump against each other to gain better positioning. This third round has to go to butler. just had better hits. And Sexton keeps leading with his head. Keeps headbutting him.
Round 3 Butler jabs and then pulls a matador dodge off to the side as Sexton drives down and forward with a 1-2 intended for the body. Big scooping body shots by Sexton, a bit all over the place, Butler moving in and out between the shots. NICE left hook to the jaw by Butler after darting inside and then dancing out to draw a shot he could counter over. Final warning to Sexton for something. Heads? Time in. BIG LEFT HOOK by Sexton, knocked Butler back against the ropes. Right hand over the top by Sexton. Butler keeps trotting in, gloves up and body turned askew. Right and left by Sexton crashing into the guard, rocking Butler a little. Accidental headbutt, and the ref doesn't take a point from Sexton even though it came after the "final warning". Left hook to the body by Sexton. Right hand up top by Butler, rocks Sexton. Gum shield out for Sexton. Replaced. Time in. Butler cuffs Sexton with a long glancing left hook. Sexton down. Round 4 Butler puts in a right hand. Sexton jumps in to flurry past it. Butler swerves to the side and pumps out another right on his way by. Butler throwing everything straight down the corridor. Sexton jumping in with awkward attacks. A bit of wrestling by the ropes. Sexton is physically bigger and stronger, and it shows on the inside. Butler has the better punch execution, speed and timing and sharpness - all of which only serve him from a healthy distance. Sexton is drowning him by the ropes, mauling and tapping away. Butler is able to escape out to the center of the ring. Butler can't get more than a parrying hook or two off before Sexton has bored his way in on him to grab and start roughing up. Right hands diving in by Sexton. Butler tries an uppercut to greet him, then shoves back out of a clinch. Sexton insists on clinching and leaves him no choice. Head clashes, accidental. Round 5 Butler walks forward, jabbing high. Sexton jogs back, whips out a right hand, then keeps moving. Sexton clinches as Butler moves in. Jabs and short right crosses by Butler. Sexton clinches and bowls Butler over into the ropes, almost dumping him on the seat of his trunks. Sexton imposing his size and bulk. (I think the commentator said he weighed in several pounds more than Butler - and that was the official weigh-in, not the same day) Butler is trying to get off as much clean work as he can but Sexton is turning it into a real taqueria restroom in there. 49-46 Butler
Round 6 Butler jabs to the body and boomerangs outside, dropping his head back and lolled to the side to avoid the looping shots Sexton is tossing back from every awkward angle imaginable. Sexton gets Butler on the ropes and rips away at him with some quick wild uppercuts. Butler covers up and blocks the brunt of it. Uppercut and hook by Butler miss as Sexton falls in and grinds against him. Sexton lands a hook after pushing off with Butler propped up on the ropes. Butler is ducking his head under the Sexton right hand, covering up and instantly pushing out in anticipation of Sexton's clinch attempts. 10-9 Sexton 58-56 Butler
