Not a big fan of his style and not too many will look great against him so unless he got into a position as mandatory I doubt the likes of Theophane would be chasing a fight with him.

Nah, ashley is astep above, anwar looked ok, a pain in the arse to fight, a bit like el macchi, about the same level.

  3. I think lack of experience might have been a problem for him.

All his fights (bar about 2) have been at Elland Road on dinner shows, a bit different to boxing at a small hall show or on Sky.

Stick him in with Woodhouse, have an ESB local derby :hey

Anwars style isnt very good although it was v.effective for prizefighter.
Would it be as effective over championship rounds....if he could keep the same pace from 1-12 then it probably would. But a seasoned boxer with good ringcraft would soon cut the ring down on him.
Hes (anwar) probably the only boxer from the area i live (west yorks) who i havent seen fight.Although some of the other fighters from our area do rate him,i dont think (at this time) he has the goods to derail theophane.

Theophane late stoppage I might be alone with this but I wasn't blown away by Anwar performance.

i watched him against nathan graham at yprk hall on a spencer fearon show. nathan graham isnt a mug weither.

was a fast paced 10 rounds as graham kept on coming forward throwing bombs. he put graham down 4 times too. was a good fight.

so i think he has a good engione and also think he has a solid shot when he plants his feet.

not sure he has the style to trouble ashley like murray did but would defo be awkward for ashley.

spot on - he put nathan through the ropes 3 times!!
also i think anwar adapted his style a little bit for prizefighter.imho i thought he looked a damn good boxer when he fought nathan. i was told that he wasn't that dedicated in the early days but now seems to have knuckled down.
i realise i'm in a minority but i like his style of boxing - would far rather watch anwar than some meathead slugger with zero skills
