Ashley Thoephane. How do you rate him?

He was keen on the Kell Brook fight but not keen on the terms. So we could see him in welter fights still, but he is making 140 comfortably from what he has said. I agree it might help with his power. Certainly hope he can get the fights at 140.

 

i saw him against bozzy bosworth. bosworth isnt a technician or a puncher or a swarmer but he gets the wins and is a frustrating opponant. theopane just wrecked him. i mean really went to town. showed some angles and stuff and just bullied the guy. reminded me of how rendall munroe fought years back just went at you and kept throwing combinations.

strange that he fought for a british title eliminator then didn't continue there. his u.s. fights is where his business is at.


but when he steps up you can see the gulf in class. he wants to be better than i think he can achieve. but he is always well motivated and can always bring the ruckus....bring the mutha****ing ruckus



good interview. guy is more knowlegeable abotu the sport than i thought. usually guys with his background and light am career they seem more in the first and foremost...fighting. but he knows some names and things which are pretty solid. i mean saying george benson is a good answer but then saying "his work with pernell whitaker" is pretty astute. if somone said the same thing to me i would say somthing pretty bait like eddie futch with joe frazier or ken norton. or emanuel steward with tommy hearns. bait obvious answers.

I can see him doing well at light welter. He has been sparring a lot of top guys in the states and over here. He rates Ajose Olusegun highly too after sparring a lot with him. He went to Ireland for McCloskey recently too. I can see him doing good things at 140. He may have had a brief amateur career, but he is actively learning/learnt his trade now.

 

rate him in what respect, as a british contender or world contender?:good

 

LWW does look ideal for him, I'd back him to beat Daws and give a very stern test to Frankie.
