Yo dennis, whats the best thing for finger or wrist soreness?
    Nothing severe, but annoying.
    Cream? Ice? Sex?

Avoid any activities that put stress on the area of pain, wear a splint, ice it and rest. If that doesn't help see a doctor, because small injuries like that could easily turn into a more severe injury.

I've been avoiding it for a couple months now, and the pain is still there.
It feels slightly better, but I still can't hook the bag.
It feels like my left forearm bone (left arm now) whacks my wrist bone and I don't know what the **** I'm supposed to do.
    Ibuprofen pills do anything?

I am genuinely depressed, I injured my right hand in the manner 7 months ago and it's fairly better but I still can't hook with my wicked manner, and now it happened with my left 2 months ago. I cannot train properly, and it's realy getting me down, please help.
There is no severe breakage or anything like that, I had an xray, and I can do pushups/clap pushups.

My hook form is with the palm inwards, with the palm downwards I can get NO power, whilst with palm facing me I had quite a powerful left and right hook.

It's like the wrist bone on the left/right side of your wrist respectively for left and right wrists hits the bone beneath it in the lower right/left corner of your palm, what the **** is going on.

Am I not making a tight enough fist? I have some issues with clenching my pinkie in my left hand, but my right is fine.

I am a very hard and dedicated trainer, and competitive person, but I am really getting depressed by my wrists. Should I work on my finger/wrist strength for 2 months and then get back to it?

    I can't afford physiotherapy.

    Dennis,
This is my first post ever on the site!!! I am a boxing fan, love watching but have never done it at all. I am not looking to get into any form of actual fighting, but I would love to train like a boxer so I can ne fit and athletic and strong like Roy Jones Jr or Anthony Mundine. What do you suggest I start my training with?
    Thanks

Ibuprofen might help, but I'd recommend you visit your doctor before this problem gets out of hand. I don't think you should do any finger/wrist strengthening right now, that might only do you worse. The thing is, this kind of injuries can cause nerve damage and stuff like that, if it isn't properly treated with the advice of a doctor.

Welcome to ESB.:good First of all, you shouldn't do any punching excercises because you will only develop bad habits from that, so that has no use at all. The best thing you can do to get a boxer's physique is bodyweight excersises (for example pushups, situps, squats and burpees) and alot of cardio training to get a low bodyfat %. I'd suggest running and skipping rope for cardio training. Here's a website about bodyweight training, I think that can help you alot.

    http://bodyweightculture.com/forum/index.php

This kind of training will get you athletic and explosive, but not extremely muscled when compared to weight training. You'll definitely get stronger from it though. You can do a search on youtube for bodyweight training as well. I'll help you out a bit by showing you a vid.
    Good luck.;)
