Maxime, when is the earliest that Bute and Pascal might get it on?

Well, this is relative to what one would perceive as 'highly'.

To me, I gave Lacy a #3 rating because, as with Kessler, we have seen that he was just another titlist in a rather weak division that has only one P4P level talent in it.

His competitors are Beyer, Mundine, Froch, and Bute. Beyer is shot, Froch and Bute are too green and unproven at this stage. Mundine has--and this is now unquestionable--lost to worse opposition than Lacy has, several times, in his prime.

I by no means overrate Lacy, it's just that after Calzaghe, 168 is empty and there are no elite or near elite fighters left to outrank him. Hope this answers your Q. :good

I am no expert...but I would say Bute takes Froch to the scorecards and gets a fairly wide UD...

Bute has a very good chin, (as does Froch). He is a good counterpuncher and moves well and is usually quite fast and has good balance - I don't think he would let Froch bully him into a corner or let him hit him with impunity.

He would outbox Froch all night (Froch doesn't have the best defense). Froch keeps his left down - supposedly to draw opponents in. Bute is a very intelligent fighter, very disciplined. He never throws caution to the wind. He prefers to take his time to figure out an opponent, before dominating him in the latter rounds. Bute (southpaw) would jab him and move, jab and move, go to the body, move, counterpunch with his left , especially to the body... Froch would try to cut off the ring and walk through the punches to get a chance to score a KD...Bute, if he gets tired of boxing might hit to the body and hold a bit. He would use the punch to the body to slow Froch down and take his legs away.

I really want to see this fight. Froch said he would KO Bute. Bute never speaks about fights until they are made. Only thing he ever said about other fighters he wasn't fighting was that he still needs a good couple of fights before he can compete with fighters like Joe and Mikkel. He is right! He needs to work on his defence and stamina. He lost some speed in his fight against Berrio - maybe he was just nervous...I don't know...

Froch needs to work on that defense...but I don't think he worries about it or that he can improve on it much. He banks on his very good chin and on his one-punch KO power.

However, he cannot go all the way against very good boxers with very good chins with that alone...Bute might not be the man, but eventually he will be beaten. Joe Calzaghe said that the best in the division would make him suffer badly for his poor very open defense, (especially given his relatively poor movement and lack of speed or head movement - I think.)

I just watched Lacy vs Pemberton and its not hard to see why Jeff Lacy was hyped up. I honestly believe he's the p4p hardest hitter in boxing, extreme power in both hands and he's not as bad a boxer as people say.

Jeff Lacy will win titles at SMW and LHW. I guarantee you.

I'm beginning to think it might be Miguel Cotto - and I've been guilty of it myself!!:yep

Even though it seemed improved as he moved up in weight, I thought Mosley would get to him. Clearly, the guy takes solid shots. It appears that weight-draining was mostly responsible for his near-disasters against Corley and Torres.

Another candidate is Sam Peter - who has gone from having perhaps an overrated chin to having an underrated one in ONE fight.

brooklyn1550, how good is Chad Dawson? How far do you expect him to go? Would he beat Hopkins if they fought in Spring?
