"Yeah Pacquaio can beat anybody" (including heavyweights)atsch "Yeah that's why Pac is undefeated...." "Yeah Mayweather lost to Mosley back in the day right?" :huh "Mayweather would have probably gave Tyson problems".....:hi: I can't talk to them about anyone other than Pac, May, Marquez, Cotto, Hopkins, and Tyson... everyone else confuses them:verysad so sad.... so sad
In the past year hi have had; Why don't Mayweather and Pacman fight each other? Why are there so many world titles? Why didn't Marquez win?
I know dawg... my friend thought he was a boxing genius after watching Amir Khan fight... he was trying to explain to me how Khan should have been the number 4 p4p fighter after Pac, May, and Cotto.... wow.... #sillycasuals.......
Watching PAC vs jmm, dumb dude beside me says that that's why PAC beats mayweather because mayweather isn't conditioned to go 12 rds like PAC.
"Boxing isn't doing so good, the Hopkins ppv didn't sell that much." Boxing isn't a league you idiots! Boxing fans shell out dough for fighters they do like, not just because any two guys step in a ring.
I don't even dare bring up boxing with mates except one of them. Its painful listening to them. The sad thing is when I first started boxing I went with my best mate and he litterally knows **** all about boxing despite having been coming to the gym with me for a year now. (although he hasn't been in a few weeks, I think he's finally give up. He's in really good shape but not much of a boxer) He knows nothing about boxing technique or boxing news, it really bothers me. One of my friends doesn't mind boxing and he'll happily watch videos I show him and absorb everything I tell him which is nice.
QFT. I dread when big fights get announced. Or when pac names gets mentioned around me. I just try to keep my mouth shut.
One my friends said to me yesterday that she thought George Foreman was just the 'fat guy who makes grills'
I try to keep the conversation light and moving and only correct major inaccuracies. I want to keep people interested in boxing and not give them a negative experience that might push them away.
my friends admire the fact that i'm so into boxing but it only rarely spurs their interest, aside from a mayweather or pacquiao fight. one of my friends is a pretty cynical and negative guy and i've taken him to a few fights and have showed him a few fights. he hates boxing because of these reasons: 1. he loved diego corrales from playing fight night and watching corrales castillo 1, corrales dies. 2. he loved arturo gatti from watching gatti ward 1, gatti dies. 3. he liked matt remillard because we've seen him live and they're from the same state, matt remillard goes to jail for five years for committing a violent assualt in my friend's hometown. 4. he was really pumped for dawson johnson 2 in hartford after I showed him their first fight. we went to the fight and it was boring as hell. 5. alfredo angulo destroyed harry joe yorgey on the undercard, so he of course, loved angulo. I get him to watch the angulo kirkland fight, we all know how that turned out. in short, he gave up on boxing legitimately, since all of his favorite fighters have either failed in the ring, been imprisoned or died. kid's ridiculous:yep
[Roger Mayweather line here] Casual fans don't know dates, how to judge the significance of a fight pre-fight, "general consensus" or Ring rankings, how to judge the significance of a fight or fighter relative to history, or detailed memory of fighters' resumes.
Haha. That's a good one. I bet ya you respected his scorecard... Same here. It's tough to do sometimes...
