Apti Alkhazurovich Davtaev vs. John Dolal Napari, 10 rounds @ heavyweight

 

This is for the WBC Asian Boxing Council heavyweight continental title, 2nd defense of Davtaev.

 

Somebody's 0 has got to go. Davtaev, a 30 year old standing at 6'5" is 19-0-1 (18) professionally. His challenger, a six-foot 36 year old Ghanaian, is 21-0 (15).

 

Most of Napari's fights have only lasted a round or two, albeit versus tomato cans at home.

 

Some leap up in class! I wonder if anybody on domestic scene came anywhere near approximating Davtaev's power...

 

Round 1

Napari cautiously trades jabs with Davtaev while inching left. Davtaev is jabbing hard between Napari's eyes, making him blink and recoil. Lots of covering up by Napari, slouching forth and then lobbing sidewinders at the body or stray hooks up top. Davtaev half-pushes and half-punches Napari onto the seat of his pants by the bottom rope with his right hand, not long before the bell.
