Napari tries bursting free with hooks at Davtaev's head but is countered with a flush uppercut on the nose and put down hard. Face glued onto the canvas, buttocks up in the air, genuflecting and writhing in pain.

Ustarkhanov vs. Sirotkin is by far the best fight on paper, IMO.

 

Davtaev makes a victory speech, keeping it short and sweet. He manages to shoehorn in the jubilant takbīr "Allah u Akbar" thrice in twenty seconds. It falls awkwardly flat, getting virtually no response. I guess the crowd in Moscow isn't made up of that many Chechens or fellow Muslims.

Abdulkerim Khalidovich Edilov vs. Ibrahim Labaran, 4 rounds @ heavyweight

 

Same dynamic as the last fight; an unbeaten Russian with a size advantage over a glass cannon from Ghana.

 

Ah. I see he made his debut (to date his only pro bout) against Irineu Beato Costa Junior, and iced him in a round. Blitzing the Brazilian is nothing special, but the old man can whack a bit..enough to make that a pretty daunting first outing.

 

First cross from the southpaw and Labaran is OUT COLD.
