Headlining tomorrow on Матч! Боец. WBO super middleweight European title at stake, Idigov's fourth defense.
I'm more interested in another fight on that card - debut for Imam Khataev. If i'm not mistaken, he take the bronze from last olympics, with 2 KO wins on his way.Aggressive in amateurs, i expect him to be a beast as a pro.
You mentioned him before, yeah. ..and he's taking on Ismat Bahman Oglu Eynullayev, interesting. Granted the Azeri has lost all his big match-ups, but he's quite an experienced opponent for someone's debut.
As for the main event, the unbeaten 25 year old from Grozny should be favored over his 31 year old Kaliningradese foe (of Belarusian descent). It bears mentioning, however, that while Gorokhov has five more blemishes (three losses and two draws) than Idigov and in fewer pro bouts, he is capable of springing the odd upset - as over previously undefeated Serbian prospect Marko Nikolić. I'm not sure he constitutes a step up per se from Idigov's latest competition (oddly enough, two consecutive former contenders who debuted in the decade before last with four-letter shorthand versions of their first names beginning with S, and with surnames beginning with "K" and ending in "-anov" in Stas Kashtanov and Sher Khusanov) but he is at least not much if any of a dip in quality.
