Apparently so. An optometrist said on the documentary that he could have fought if he wanted to. The rest of his body healed as well. The documentary shone a light on a lot of side-issues I wasn't aware of.

I'd agree with that and it's something I kept thinking about throughout. That said, maybe Resto needed it as well? Who knows. Like I said, it's certainly opened my eyes on it all and I no longer have the opinion I had before I watched it anymore.

Is this on Youtube? I desperately want to see it. Was it still made by Eric Drath as he was going to make a documentary on this called 'Cornered'

****! always thought his career was done, which why he fell into depression, drink, figting with hsi wife etc.

So he could have fought and made some bread from that..Hmmmm makes me think now!

Well, his father was too interested in suing everyone under the sun. I think that, from what was on the documentary at least, he convinced Billy he didn't have to fight as he'd be getting a shitload of compensation and pay-outs if he stayed out of the ring.

As for the Kieron (above) who wants to watch the documentary, there are details in this thread about how you can watch it;).

You make a good point but it's suprising how fast these guy's heal.

I watch a lot of MMA and I've seen guy's with what appears to be worse facial damage than Collins but they've been back in the ring before 9 month's.

    This is just an example.

This came up in the GF so thought I'd revive this thread. I bought this on DVD and found the whole thing sad and disturbing. One man has become a total pariah yet the other is still making a pretty penny out of boxing and is revered as some kind of celebrity despite his "ban". Panama is still, clearly, in total denial about the whole episode and shows no remorse.

Watched it for the first time last night and here is what I said about it on the Choi thread.

Just finished watching it, very powerful stuff. Lewis is clearly a cheating piece of **** and should quite frankly **** off and die and I think it's now safe to say that Pryor cheated against Arguello. Resto is the perfect example of somebody letting greed cloud his judgment and my God he paid the consequences for it, it was scarcely believable the amount of influence Lewis had over him it was almost like a parent and a small child yet despite his confession at the end I can't bring myself to feel much sympathy for him.

Plus Panama dresses like a total twat. He's clearly oblivious to his huge gut that ruins his attempt at looking young and "cool".

True that, how much bling does he wear? Twenty year olds don't look cool with that much on them so why on earth would a 60 year old?

The film left me with several lumps in my throat i have to admit...
Resto turning up at the Collins household...to speak to his father, an then again when he goes to see his widow...proper gut wrenching stuff...
To hear his side of the story an seein how he has lived compared to that of Panama, who somehow has still made money by working with people like zab judah....it jus makes you wonder....

Resto exorcised some demons during the course of the documentary....
Would def recommend this DVD to anybody
