"Assault in the ring" HBO documentary

    Here is the HBO Boxing trailer for this excellent and powerful documentary about the fateful 'fight' between Luis Resto - Irish Billy Collins.

    I watched the whole thing and it is such a tragic story of how the corrupt events of one fight can change the lives of two families forever.

    It got me thinking, what UK/Irish boxing documentaries need to be made? What stories need to be told?

    *******s. I still hold out hope that HBO will eventually release it as a DVD. Tragic series of events and the main reason I can't stand it when people say Margarito somehow deserves a second chance.

    Could make an excellent docu on Mcguigan and the affect he had on the Irish people at the time. How about one on Benn Eubank, cant beat a good rivalry.

    Have you seen the Lennox lewis film made around the build up to the Holyfield fight - superb

    Really. Who can you get this? That HBO doc has whetted the appetite for a few more good boxing docs...

    Yeah that was really good.
    I saw one on prince naseem recently documenting his genius and career alot of behind the scenes stuff right up to the barrera fight with steward predicting his downfall when he was training him.
    I also recently saw one about Haseem Rahman in the build up to the Lewis rematch that was spot on.

    Espn classics have loads of good ones one usually in the middle of the night

    Yeah the McGuigan and Benn-Eubank rivalry would be brilliant viewing. I would like to see one done on someone like Kirkland Laing...
